While the new One UI 8 user interface doesn’t bring revolutionary design changes like previous generations, it focuses on what users might appreciate even more – speed, stability, and smart features. The interface has received smoother animations, more dynamic colors, and polished screen transitions. The improved quick launch panel has a more transparent look and better-organized controls.

A Smarter Phone That Responds to You

One UI 8 builds on the foundations of Galaxy AI, which Samsung first introduced in the previous version. The Now Brief feature will suggest next steps based on what you’re doing and will soon be available on selected older Samsung phone models.

AI is now more deeply integrated with apps like Calendar, Messages, and Weather, so it can, for example, automatically suggest a reply to a message or remind you of an upcoming event. Good news also includes the strengthening of AI’s offline capabilities, meaning some features work even without an internet connection, and your data remains only on your phone.

The new Quick Share has a redesigned interface that clearly separates Send and Receive modes. You can now send and receive files directly from the quick panel, without needing to open the gallery or another app. Just switch to the Receive tab, and your phone is ready – it works with any compatible device, even if it’s not in your contacts.

Smarter Reminders for Travel and Home

The Reminder feature has a clearer interface and quick access to categories, allowing you to plan everything from family vacations to shopping lists. You can easily share information with others and add new notes by voice, which is ideal especially when your hands are full.

Photos That Can Do More

One UI 8 brings smart AI tools to the Gallery – such as Portrait Studio, which can turn a pet photo into an artistic painting or a comic. Additionally, the Gallery automatically sorts screenshots into clear categories, so you can find flight tickets, QR codes, or shopping lists in a matter of seconds.

Multitasking Without Limits

The improved split-screen mode now allows you to set the display ratio, for example, to 90:10, which is ideal when you need to quickly glance at a small detail in one app while continuing to work on a larger area in the other.

The Now Bar, already known from One UI 7, now works with more applications thanks to the integration of Android 16 Live Updates, so you can keep track of music, sports results, or how much time is left until your courier delivers your food.

One UI 8 is already running on the latest foldable phones, Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7. Thanks to the large screen and optimized interface, you can have up to three apps side-by-side, open them in floating windows, and drag photos, text, or files from one to another. Both the outer and inner displays are also customized to show you important tools and information exactly where you need them.

Security at First Touch

Want to ensure no one sees your sensitive apps and files? In One UI 8, you can completely hide the secure folder from the app menu and notifications. When you need it, a single tap on the quick panel will display it, and you can unlock it with a separate fingerprint verification. And with the Knox feature, you have an overview of the security of all your Galaxy devices directly from your phone.
