One UI 9 is coming to more Samsung devices. Galaxy S24, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6 are next

Samsung continues to deploy the One UI 9 overlay, and after this year’s and last year’s flagships, it is now reaching 2024 phones. The stable version with Android 17 has started rolling out to the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 foldables. Owners in South Korea are the first to receive it, from where the update will soon expand to other parts of the world for Samsung devices.

What does the update bring?

User Kailash noted the start of the update rollout on X. The package size depends on which system version you are upgrading from. Those with a Galaxy S24 still on One UI 8.5 will download approximately 3.8 GB; beta program participants only need about 500 MB. For Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, it’s 3.5 GB and 408 MB respectively when upgrading from the beta. Therefore, it’s advisable to have Wi-Fi and sufficient free space available before downloading.

What the update will bring was already hinted at by the beta. Its participants with Galaxy S24 received four AI-powered features adopted from Galaxy S26 and Z Fold8. My FanCam keeps the selected subject in frame for the entire duration of the video, Call Brief shows the local time and country of the caller for international calls, Now Nudge offers suggestions based on your habits, and Now Brief now allows you to edit cards.

Which Samsung devices already have One UI 9?

The overlay debuted in July on the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra, and Z Flip8 foldables. The Galaxy S26 series started receiving it in Korea on September 16, but the international release was initially delayed, and Samsung did not explain the reasons. By the end of September, the Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 foldables were added. Thus, approximately three months passed since its premiere before One UI 9 reached the 2024 flagships.

The manufacturer has not yet announced a date for the Czech Republic. Based on the current rollout pattern, the update is expected to reach other countries within days to weeks. You can check if it’s available for your phone in Settings under Software Update.
