Oura Ring 5 is the smallest smart ring in the world. It also boasts longer battery life, but it's more expensive than its predecessor Home News Oura Ring 5 is 40% smaller than its predecessor, becoming the smallest smart ring in the world. It can be pre-ordered on Alza from 10,090 CZK, with the first units arriving on June 4, 2026. Key new health features, including blood pressure measurement, are currently only available in the USA, India, and UAE. Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 29. 5. 2026 04:30 Advertisement Smart rings have carved out their category mainly thanks to Oura, which has been claiming for over ten years that the finger is a more accurate place for measuring heart rate and sleep than the wrist. However, the Finnish brand didn’t have peace on the throne. Samsung introduced the Galaxy Ring, and smaller names like RingConn or Ultrahuman are also encroaching, so Oura didn’t wait the usual three years this time. The Oura Ring 5 arrives about a year and a half after the fourth generation, and immediately boasts the title of the smallest smart ring in the world. The question is whether the reduced dimensions represent a significant leap forward, or if it’s more of a reaction to the competition. The smallest ring in the world, but hardware progressed cautiously Battery life, charging case, and new action button Software is the star of the show, but the Czech Republic will miss out for now Price and availability in the Czech Republic Who the Oura Ring 5 makes sense for The smallest ring in the world, but hardware progressed cautiously The main attraction of the fifth generation is its size. Oura reduced the internal mechanics, electronics, and battery by 40% compared to the Oura Ring 4 model, resulting in a thinner and lighter ring with a width of 6.09 mm and a thickness of 2.28 mm. The weight starts at just 2 grams depending on the size, while the older Ring 4 weighed from approximately 3 grams. The body is still made of hypoallergenic titanium with water resistance up to 100 meters (IP68 rating). Oura added a stronger PVD coating, so the Ring 5 should be more scratch-resistant than before. Inside is a new sensor architecture with lower optical domes for better skin contact, more powerful LEDs, and twelve signal pathways designed to improve measurement accuracy across various finger shapes and skin tones. However, it’s good to keep expectations realistic here. Oura talks about 99% accuracy for heart rate (r² against ECG) and 95% for sleep stages against a clinical laboratory, but it reported very similar numbers for the fourth generation. The improvement makes more sense for people with thinner fingers or darker skin tones, for whom earlier generations weren’t as suitable. Don’t expect a revolution in measured data from the new ring; the progress is mainly in comfort and form. Battery life, charging case, and new action button Despite its smaller body, the Ring 5 improved its battery life. The battery can last 6 to 9 days on a single charge, which is one day more than the Ring 4 offered with a maximum of 192 hours. A full charge takes 20 to 80 minutes depending on the state. A new feature is a small action button, which you can use to check the charge status or quickly pair the ring with the app. For travelers, Oura offers an optional Oura Ring 5 Charging Case. The aluminum case holds about a month’s worth of power, allowing you to charge the ring up to five times without a power outlet. However, it costs an additional 99 dollars (about 2,100 CZK), making it an extra for more demanding users. Software is the star of the show, but the Czech Republic will miss out for now Oura saved the biggest portion of attention for its software. It launched the Health Radar feature, which monitors selected indicators in the background and alerts users to patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed. It stands on two pillars: blood pressure signals (including overnight measurement) and nighttime breathing with a thirty-day overview. Additionally, Oura Health Records for linking with medical records and GLP-1 Insights for users of weight-loss medications have been added. And now for the catch. Health Radar, including blood pressure, is only available in the USA, India, and the United Arab Emirates, and only in English. Health Records and AI care features are currently only available in US states (care even in only 43 of them). For a Czech interested party, this means that a significant portion of the interesting new features simply won’t be available here from the start. Price and availability in the Czech Republic The Oura Ring 5 is available for pre-order, with deliveries starting on June 4, 2026. The ring will arrive in six colors, including a redesigned lighter shade of Gold and the new Deep Rose. Sizes 6 to 13 are available, and Oura recommends using a sizing kit even for owners of older rings. Due to the smaller body, the same size might fit differently. On Alza, pre-orders start at 10,090 CZK for the Black, Silver, Stealth, and Brushed Silver variants, while Gold and Deep Rose will cost 12,599 CZK. With each order, the seller includes a free Sizing Kit worth 249 CZK. Furthermore, to fully utilize the ring, you need an Oura Membership for 5.99 € per month (about 150 CZK, the first month is free). It’s worth noting that the price has gone up. The Ring 4 started at 9,990 crowns here, but on Alza, it has now been discounted to 9,190 CZK. Who the Oura Ring 5 makes sense for The fifth generation will primarily suit people who have been put off by the size of smart rings until now. If you want wearable electronics that you might not even feel on your hand, the 40% smaller body is the right argument. It also makes sense for new interested parties who haven’t yet purchased a ring and want the latest generation with the longest battery life. Conversely, Oura Ring 4 owners have no reason to rush due to software. Most new features will also arrive for them, and the hardware advancement is primarily about size, not dramatically better data. Czech customers should also consider that blood pressure measurement, Health Radar, and integration with medical records will not function here, at least initially. Furthermore, the mandatory subscription is still part of the ring’s price, making Oura a more expensive long-term choice than, for example, the Samsung Galaxy Ring. The Oura Ring 5 is thus the best ring the brand has produced, but for a Czech user, it’s more of a comfort upgrade than a health revolution.
