Owners of older Samsung watches, rejoice. A welcome improvement is coming soon

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series came with a whole host of improvements, among which Google Gemini support undoubtedly belongs. However, owners of older Samsung watches also have reason to rejoice. The South Korean giant intends to bring the aforementioned assistant to its other models as well.

Gemini for Galaxy Watch 5, 6, and 7 too

Gemini AI may have debuted in the Galaxy Watch 8, but that certainly doesn’t mean it’s only for the latest watch models. New features will be available for all smartwatches with Wear OS 4 and newer. This includes the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 6, and Galaxy Watch 7 series. For Samsung watches, full integration of Gemini and replacement of the original Google Assistant also requires the latest version of the OneUI 8 overlay.

Samsung has just released its beta version for all Galaxy Watch 5 models, and its early release is expected for the mentioned Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and 7 series as well. Gemini integration in watches is intended to ensure much smoother and more natural conversation. Besides simple commands, such as creating a note, Gemini can, for example, search for and summarize an email. Gemini should work particularly well on watches in conjunction with Galaxy Buds 3 and 3 Pro headphones.
