The wait for the new generation of Pixels has a fixed point. Google has sent out invitations to its annual Made by Google show and, along with them, revealed when the phones and smartwatches will be officially unveiled – it will happen on Wednesday, August 12. Until then, most details remain in the realm of leaks, of which there have been plenty in recent months.

When and where is Made by Google 2026 taking place?

Google has scheduled the event for Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and it will take place in New York. The keynote starts at 3:00 PM Pacific Time, or 6:00 PM Eastern Time – for us in the Czech Republic, this means you will be able to watch the live broadcast at night, roughly around midnight from August 12 to August 13. Compared to last year, the company has sped things up by approximately a week.

What all is Google preparing?

The main star of the evening will be the Pixel 11 series. According to current information, it is expected to be introduced in four forms – as Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the foldable Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Besides phones, the manufacturer is also preparing new smartwatches, the Pixel Watch 5, which should arrive in two sizes.

Inside the phones, a new proprietary chip, the Tensor G6, is expected to beat. According to leaks, Google will have it manufactured using a more modern 2nm process and should pair it with a MediaTek modem – it has been speculated for a long time that the manufacturer would look to competitors for modems. The chip is mainly expected to bring higher efficiency and more power for artificial intelligence features.

Leaked renders, which we wrote about in the spring, hinted at what the new products might look like even before their official unveiling. The camera strip is expected to undergo a more significant change: instead of the thermometer that adorned last year’s models, RGB backlighting dubbed Pixel Glow will reportedly be moved into it, according to leaks.

For the Pro duo, there’s talk of 6.3″ and 6.8″ OLED displays with brightness up to around 3,600 nits, and new main camera and telephoto lens sensors. However, higher prices are also likely to be expected – due to more expensive components, the new products are reportedly set to increase in price by about 100 dollars compared to last year. Exact figures remain open, and Google will only announce official prices for the Czech Republic, but theoretically, we should also see a price increase of roughly 1,500 CZK to 2,000 CZK here.

Pixel Watch 5 are expected to rely on a proprietary chip

At first glance, the Pixel Watch 5 smartwatches probably won’t bring a revolution – aesthetically, according to leaks, they are based on last year’s model and will offer two case sizes, 41 and 45 mm. A fundamental change is expected to happen internally: Google is reportedly replacing Qualcomm’s chip for the first time with a proprietary processor from the Tensor family. This is expected to promise better battery life and faster execution of Gemini features directly on the wrist.

Meanwhile, a bizarre story has already unfolded around the watches – a prototype was reportedly found at the bottom of the sea. The software is expected to be powered by Wear OS 7, and the price could reportedly remain at 349 dollars, which translates to around 7,500 Czech crowns. However, the new product usually arrives in Czech stores with a delay, with sharp sales expected rather in October.
