Taking notes during a meeting while simultaneously listening to what everyone is saying is a discipline few people master. Plaud Note offers a simple solution – it records the meeting, transcribes it into text, and creates a summary. This all runs on large language models like GPT, Claude, or Gemini, so the transcription quality is on a completely different level than with traditional voice recorders.

A credit card that records

Plaud Note measures 85 × 54 × 3 mm – practically the same as a credit card. It fits into a wallet, shirt pocket, or phone case. The latter is important because the package includes a MagSafe compatible case for attaching to an iPhone. For other phones, a magnetic adapter is included in the package.

The recorder offers two modes. The first uses a dual microphone to capture voice up to a distance of 10 meters – suitable for meetings, lectures, or interviews. Recording itself is only half the work. Plaud Note synchronizes recordings to an app, where you choose which model you want to process the recording with – GPT, Claude, or Gemini are available. The app then creates a transcript, outline, summary, or mind map.

Crucial is the support for 112 languages, including Czech and Slovak. The free Starter plan offers 300 minutes of transcription per month and includes virtually all features. For more demanding users, there is the Pro plan with 1,200 minutes for 232 CZK per month, or the Unlimited plan without restrictions. A bonus is AI noise suppression, which can also be applied retrospectively to older recordings.

Critical voices point out two things. New firmware has blocked access to recordings via USB – if you don’t want to use the cloud, you’re out of luck. And the microphone quality is not on par with professional voice recorders, so it may not be sufficient for large conferences in spacious rooms. Call recording also has its reservations.
