POCO F7 Ultra is cheaper again! You probably won't find a better phone for 13 thousand

Few phones can offer such a performance-to-features ratio for a price around 13 thousand Czech crowns. After several months since its release, the POCO F7 Ultra has seen another price drop and is currently available on Alza for 13,118 CZK. And honestly? You probably won’t buy a better phone for this money.

Snapdragon 8 Elite brings performance that costs double elsewhere

Inside the phone beats the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, manufactured with 3nm technology. Combined with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, it’s an extremely fast processor that can handle the most demanding games and multitasking. During testing, I tried titles like Genshin Impact or CarX Street, and the phone maintained a stable 60 FPS without overheating – thanks also to the efficient IceLoop cooling system.

The POCO F7 Ultra thus competes in performance with much more expensive flagships. The speed of the HyperOS 2 system, smooth animations, and instant touch responses also pleasantly surprised me.

2K AMOLED display and ultrasonic fingerprint reader will please even demanding users

The 6.67″ display is among the best in its price class. It offers 3200×1440 px resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness up to 3,200 nits. It’s perfectly readable in direct sunlight and also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. During testing, I also appreciated the accurate color reproduction, which approaches more expensive OLED panels from Samsung.

Also included is an ultrasonic fingerprint reader integrated into the display. It works faster and more reliably than optical sensors in most competitors – unlocking takes a fraction of a second, and the reader responds even with a wet finger.

120W charging and 5,300 mAh battery: even a few minutes on the charger are enough

The 5,300 mAh capacity might seem average, but in practice, the phone charges so quickly that battery life ceases to be an issue. 120W wired charging can replenish the battery from 0 to 100% in about half an hour, and if you prefer convenience, 50W wireless charging is also available.

With normal use (communication, social media, photography, and a few games), the F7 Ultra lasted me a day and a half. However, if you primarily use the phone for gaming, expect a rather one-day cycle.

Telephoto lens and IP68 – features you wouldn’t expect at this price

On the back of the phone, we find a trio of cameras – a main 50Mpx sensor, a 50Mpx telephoto lens with 2.5× zoom, and a 32Mpx ultrawide lens. During testing, the telephoto lens surprised me the most – colors are true, details are preserved, and photos look more natural than from the main sensor. While quality decreases at night, for a price tag around 13 thousand, the result is above average.

Another advantage is IP68 water resistance and a metal frame with a glass back. The phone thus feels truly premium, even though its price falls into the mid-range category. While it’s not the lightest model at 212 grams, it feels solid and holds well in hand.

Verdict: A phone that brought the competition to its knees

POCO F7 Ultra is exactly the type of phone that shows top-tier performance doesn’t have to cost a fortune. In my experience, it’s the best choice around 13 thousand Czech crowns if you’re looking for a fast, well-equipped, and modern smartphone. While it has a few minor weaknesses – no adapter in the box and rather average battery life – it excels in the rest of its features.

For a price at which the competition barely offers a mid-range device, you get flagship performance, a top-tier display, fast charging, and features one wouldn’t expect in this category. If you’re considering a new phone up to 15 thousand, the POCO F7 Ultra should be at the top of your list.
