The well-known Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station has published further details on the upcoming Redmi K90 Pro smartphone on the social network Weibo, which should later be introduced in the Czech Republic and other countries as POCO F8 Ultra. According to available information, it will be a significant upgrade compared to the current generation, although there will be minor compromises in some respects.

Newer Processor and Larger Battery

The most significant change will be the deployment of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which should offer even higher performance than the current first generation of this processor. POCO F8 Ultra should thus be one of the most powerful phones on the market.

Digital Chat Station further revealed that the new device will get the largest battery in the series’ history – although the specific capacity was not mentioned, we can speculate about a value around 6,000 mAh or higher. Surprisingly, however, the charging power will slow down from the current 120 W to 100 W. Even so, it will be an absolutely top-tier value that many competitors will only be able to envy.

Premium Cameras and Improved Audio

The leaker’s information indicates that POCO F8 Ultra will be the only model in the series with a large main sensor and a periscopic telephoto lens (about which we informed you recently). The camera setup should thus compete with more expensive flagship phones from Xiaomi. Specific camera specifications are not yet known, but we can expect at least a 50Mpx main sensor with optical stabilization.

The phone will reportedly also offer a significantly improved audio system, which is said to be a level above the competition. Digital Chat Station also mentions flagship peripherals, which could mean an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, wireless charging, or a higher degree of durability.

The Current POCO F7 Ultra Is Still Worth Attention

While we await its successor, the current POCO F7 Ultra remains one of the most interesting phones on the market. In our review, we highlighted primarily the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 120W charging, and the surprising presence of a 50Mpx telephoto lens with 2.5× optical zoom.

For its current price of just around 14 thousand Czech crowns, the phone also offers a 6.67″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 3200 × 1440 pixels, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and a 5,300mAh battery. The only significant drawbacks are average battery life and the lack of eSIM support.

Are you looking forward to the POCO F8 Ultra with an even more powerful processor?
