Poco has decided to attack the segment of affordable phones with one clear trump card – a massive 7000mAh battery, which it managed to pack into a surprisingly thin body. The M7 Plus 5G model measures just 8.4 millimeters, which is truly impressive for a phone with such a battery capacity. Regular phones with a 5000mAh battery are often thicker.

The use of a silicon-carbon battery allowed for higher energy density, meaning more capacity in a smaller space. Charging takes place at 33 W, which is not the fastest, but acceptable given the price. An interesting feature is the support for 18W reverse charging – the phone can thus serve as an emergency power bank for your headphones, watch, or another phone.

LCD Display as a Concession for the Low Price

A diagonal of 6.9 inches makes the M7 Plus a giant piece of mobile. Poco opted for an LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. This is a great number on paper, but in practice, LCD technology means worse contrast and viewing angles than OLED displays, which can now be found even in cheaper phones.

The maximum brightness of 550 nits is another compromise – you will have trouble in direct sunlight. An 8Mpx front camera in the display punch-hole serves for selfie photos.

Performance for Undemanding Users, Ample Memory

The heart of the phone is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, which is essentially a slightly improved and renamed Snapdragon 695. For everyday use, social media, and lighter games, the performance is sufficient, but don’t expect any miracles. Poco offers variants with 6 or 8 GB RAM and 128GB storage.

A pleasant surprise is the microSD card slot with support for up to 2 TB. At a time when manufacturers are massively cutting this feature, it’s a welcome bonus, especially for a phone with relatively small basic storage.

Camera with Basic AI Features

The rear hosts a pair of cameras – a 50Mpx main sensor and a unspecified secondary lens (likely a macro or depth sensor).

Poco boasts several AI features such as AI Dynamic Shot, AI Eraser, and AI Sky replacement. These are basic photo edits known from more expensive phones, but their quality will depend on software optimization.

HyperOS and Update Promise

The M7 Plus runs on Android 15 with HyperOS overlay. Poco promises two years of major system updates and four years of security patches.

The equipment also includes Google Gemini. The phone further offers IP64 resistance (protection against dust and splashing water), a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and for some, a useful IR blaster for controlling home electronics.

Price Will Determine Success

In India, the price starts at 13,999 rupees (approx. 3,300 CZK) for the 6/128 GB version, while the higher 8/128 GB variant will cost 14,999 rupees (3,600 CZK). The phone weighs 217 grams, which is understandable given the huge battery. It will be available in three colors – Aqua Blue, Carbon Black, and Chrome Silver.
