Even before the official unveiling of the new flagship Samsung Galaxy S26 series, complete technical specifications for all three models have leaked online. They were published by well-known leaker Roland Quandt in an article for WinFuture. It is confirmed that Samsung will primarily focus on new One UI 8.5 software with enhanced artificial intelligence features, while hardware upgrades remain relatively conservative. But did anyone expect anything different?

Exynos 2600 for Europe, Snapdragon for Ultra

As expected, Samsung will equip the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ models in Europe with its own Exynos 2600 chipset. This chip is manufactured using the most advanced 2nm process to date and features ten cores – one high-performance C1-Ultra at 3.9 GHz, three C1-Prox at 3.25 GHz, and six power-efficient C1-Prox at 2.75 GHz.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra model will also receive the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip in Europe, which will run at a clock speed of up to 4.74 GHz. This is, by the way, a higher value than in other smartphones with the same processor, so Samsung has apparently once again received an exclusive version.

All versions of the S26 series will come standard with 12 GB of RAM, with only the highest S26 Ultra configuration with terabyte storage offering 16 GB of RAM. Interestingly, Samsung has completely dropped the 128GB variant this year.

Displays without any surprising changes

Regarding screens, Samsung maintains the same sizes as the previous generation. The Galaxy S26 features a 6.3″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels, while the S26+ and S26 Ultra models offer 6.7″ and 6.9″ displays, respectively, with a resolution of 3120 × 1440 pixels. All screens are protected by the new Corning Gorilla Glass Armor 2 and support a refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz.

Cameras: evolution instead of revolution

The photographic equipment of the S26 and S26+ models remains practically identical to last year’s generation. The main sensor offers 50 Mpx with an aperture of f/1.8 and optical stabilization, the 3× telephoto lens has 10 Mpx, and the ultrawide-angle lens features 12 Mpx. However, Samsung slightly reduced the maximum aperture of the accompanying cameras.

For the Galaxy S26 Ultra model, the manufacturer made minor improvements. The main 200Mpx sensor now operates with a larger aperture of f/1.4 instead of the previous f/1.7, suggesting the use of a new sensor. The periscopic 5× telephoto lens with 50 Mpx also has a larger aperture of f/2.8, and the ultrawide-angle camera has been upgraded to 50 Mpx with an aperture of f/1.9 and autofocus. All models can record video in 8K at 30 fps or 4K at 120 fps with 10-bit HDR support.

Battery and charging: finally 60 W for the Ultra!

The charging area brings good news, at least for those interested in the Ultra model. It now supports 60W fast charging, which is the highest value for Samsung flagships to date. It can handle 25 W wirelessly. The smaller S26 and S26+ models offer 25W and 45W wired charging, respectively, and 15W wireless charging. All phones support the Qi2 standard, but Samsung again did not offer integrated MagSafe-style magnets, which fans were looking forward to.

Battery capacities remain practically unchanged – 4,300 mAh for the S26 (an increase of 300 mAh here), 4,900 mAh for the S26+, and 5,000 mAh for the S26 Ultra. Compared to Chinese competitors, who have deployed silicon-carbon batteries with capacities easily exceeding 6,000 mAh, this is a bit of a disappointment. Samsung is clearly indicating that it does not want to rush into any experiments.

Dual SIM only with eSIM for smaller models

An important change concerns dual SIM card support. The Galaxy S26 and S26+ models in Europe will offer only one physical nanoSIM slot, and the second card must be in the form of an eSIM. Only the S26 Ultra retains two physical slots plus eSIM support. For users accustomed to using two traditional SIM cards, this could be a significant limitation.

What are the German prices?

According to leaked information, the Galaxy S26 in Germany will start at 999 euros (an equivalent of 24,200 CZK), the S26+ model at 1,269 euros (about 30,800 CZK), and the S26 Ultra at 1,469 euros (approximately 35,600 CZK).

The phones will be sold in white, blue, black, and purple. Android 16 with the One UI 8.5 overlay will serve as the operating system, which is expected to bring a number of new features in the field of artificial intelligence.

Is an upgrade from last year’s generation worth it?

If you own a Galaxy S25, the reasons to upgrade to the new generation are not very compelling. This year, Samsung plans to focus primarily on software innovations and AI features, while hardware has only seen cosmetic adjustments. Cameras have remained practically identical for several years, batteries have not significantly increased, and charging still lags behind the competition. The S26 Ultra model appears to be the most interesting due to improved camera apertures and 60W charging, but even so, it’s more of a minor refinement than a generational leap.

What do you think of the specifications of the new Galaxy S26 series?
