Projectors with a built-in smart system are usually either expensive or compromise on image quality. You can now get the ViewSonic LX60HD for 5,990 CZK instead of the original 9,290 CZK – and it offers Full HD resolution, Google TV with native Netflix, and automatic functions for easy setup. If you want to check current availability or price, you can find everything in the product details on Alza.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you’re looking for a compact projector for movies and series with easy setup and don’t want to deal with external devices.
⚠️ Consider if you need a projector for a bright room or expect cinema-level brightness.
💡 For 5,990 CZK you get a Full HD projector with Google TV, which is an unusual combination in this price category.

Why this projector is interesting

ViewSonic LX60HD targets users who want a simple home cinema without the need to connect set-top boxes or streaming devices. The projector has built-in Google TV with direct access to Netflix, Disney+, YouTube apps and the Czech service Oneplay. You don’t have to deal with Chromecast or Fire TV Stick – everything is integrated directly into the projector and controlled by the included remote.

Thanks to Wi-Fi (5 GHz) and Bluetooth 5.0, you can also wirelessly mirror content from your phone or tablet, or connect Bluetooth headphones for night viewing without disturbing others. In the price category under 6,000 CZK, this equipment is rather an exception.

Image and projection parameters

The projector uses LCD technology with LED backlighting and a native resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels (Full HD). The maximum image diagonal reaches up to 355 cm (140″), but realistically, expect a diagonal of around 100–120″ where the image is sharpest. The projection distance ranges from 1.42 to 3.8 meters – for a 100″ image, you need approximately 2.3 meters from the wall.

The brightness of 630 ANSI lumens is a parameter that needs to be considered. For evening viewing in a darkened room, this is a sufficient value, but during the day with open blinds, the image will be significantly washed out. A contrast of 4200:1 ensures decent black depth for this price category. The LED source has a stated lifespan of 20,000 hours, which means years of operation without replacement under normal use.

Automatic features simplify setup

ViewSonic has integrated several automatic functions into the LX60HD, which you’ll appreciate especially if you frequently move the projector. Auto focus automatically sharpens the image within seconds of turning it on. Automatic keystone correction (H/V keystone ±40°) adjusts the image to be symmetrical even when the projector is placed at an angle. Add to that 4-point corner correction and auto screen fit, which adapts the image to the screen size.

Also interesting is the automatic obstacle avoidance function – if you have a picture or shelf on the wall, the projector detects the obstacle and reduces the projected area to avoid it. In practice, this means less time spent adjusting and a faster movie start.

Practical aspects: ports, sound, dimensions

Connectivity includes HDMI 1.4 for connecting a game console or Blu-ray player, 2× USB 2.0 for playback from a flash drive, and a 3.5mm audio output for external speakers. The built-in 2× 5W speakers can handle basic sound, but for a cinematic experience, we recommend connecting a soundbar or at least a better Bluetooth speaker.

Dimensions of 22.8 × 15.9 × 22.7 cm and a weight of 3.13 kg make the projector a relatively compact device. The optical engine has a sealed design protecting against dust and moisture, which extends lifespan and eliminates the problem of black dots on the image. The noise level of 40 dB is audible, but it shouldn’t disturb you when watching a movie at a reasonable volume.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you plan to watch content during the day without the possibility of darkening the room, 630 ANSI lumens will not be enough – you will need a projector with significantly higher brightness (1500+ lumens). Similarly, if you are looking for a projector primarily for gaming, an input lag of over 160 ms is unusable for fast-paced titles. For gaming, there are better alternatives with lower latency.

The projector also does not support 4K resolution – if you have a lot of 4K content and care about maximum detail, you will have to opt for a higher price category. And if you expect cinema-quality sound, the built-in 2× 5W speakers will probably not satisfy you – plan on purchasing external audio equipment.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

ViewSonic LX60HD is the choice for those who want a simple home cinema without complications. For 5,990 CZK, you get a Full HD projector with Google TV, native Netflix, auto-focus, and Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connectivity. It’s an ideal option for a darkened bedroom or living room for evening movie and series watching. It’s not a projector for demanding videophiles or gamers – but in this price category, it offers features that are hard to find elsewhere.

Do you use a projector at home, or is a classic TV still enough for you?
