Rapture BANSHEE Wireless gaming mouse available 40% cheaper. It impresses with great features and excellent ratings

We have repeatedly recommended the wired Rapture BANSHEE in recent months. However, its wireless sibling shares more of a name than internal components with the older mouse: it received a newer sensor, connects in three ways, and maintains an 8,000 Hz polling rate even without a cable. The Rapture BANSHEE Wireless now costs 1,019 CZK with code ALZADNY40 instead of the usual 1,699 CZK, which is 340 CZK less than in the previous promotion.

Last time it cost 1,359 CZK, now 340 CZK less

The BANSHEE Wireless usually sells for 1,699 CZK on Alza, and in the last promotion, it dropped to 1,359 CZK. The ALZADNY40 code goes a step further: with it, the mouse will cost 1,019 CZK, so you save 680 CZK, or 40%.

Just to avoid confusion: the wired BANSHEE, which we wrote about in April and in July when it dropped to 399 CZK, is a different mouse. It has an older PAW 3395 sensor and weighs 51.5 g. The Wireless version is 13 grams heavier, but it’s cable-free and has an eight times higher polling rate.

PAW 3950 sensor and 8,000 Hz even without a wire

The tracking is handled by the PixArt PAW 3950 optical sensor, which, according to the manufacturer, can handle up to 30,000 DPI, a speed of 750 IPS, and 50G acceleration. No one will use 30,000 DPI in practice; gaming is done at a fraction of this value. What’s important is that it’s a current top-tier sensor, also found in more expensive mice. The mouse communicates with the computer via a Nordic 52840 microcontroller up to 8,000 times per second, both wired and via the 2.4GHz receiver. One owner verified this and measured approximately 7.4 kHz wirelessly.

In addition to the receiver, the mouse pairs via Bluetooth 5.3, allowing you to connect it to up to three devices, such as a gaming PC and a work laptop. The third option is a 1.5 m braided USB-C cable. The main buttons are made of magnesium and house Omron D2FC-F-7N switches, which the manufacturer promises a lifespan of up to 100 million clicks.

There are six buttons, all programmable in the software, which is in Czech. You can set sensitivity, macros, or the lift-off distance at which the mouse stops responding (1 or 2 mm). On the side, within thumb reach, there’s a sniper button that lowers DPI for more precise aiming while pressed. The package also includes replacement glides.

No lights and more for a larger hand

The mouse is shaped for right-handers, and reviews indicate that it fits larger hands better, especially with a claw grip. Those with smaller hands or who primarily use a fingertip grip might be less satisfied. Even with a large palm, it’s not a guarantee: several owners with hands around 19 cm write that the right side is quite low, and the ring and pinky fingers might lack space there.

You won’t find backlighting here. Some miss it, others see it as an advantage because RGB doesn’t drain the battery. No one complains about battery life, anyway: according to one owner, about 10% of the battery is consumed during all-day use, while another charges for half an hour once every two to three weeks. However, keep in mind that at a full 8,000 Hz, the battery will drain faster than at a lower polling rate. And one more practical detail: the receiver is a separate dongle on a cable and cannot be stored inside the mouse body, which might bother those who carry the mouse with a laptop.

Owners compare it to Logitech, criticisms focus on the shape

On Alza, the mouse has a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 41 reviews, 95% of customers recommend it, and over 1,000 units have been sold. The return rate of 1.75% is low. Many reviewers switched from Logitech G502 or G305 and have no complaints; one even places it above the Logitech Superlight. The most frequent praise is for its price-to-performance ratio, low weight, and replacement glides. One customer summarized it by saying that the mouse’s specifications match models costing three thousand and more.

Aside from the shape, criticisms revolve around minor details. Some people occasionally accidentally press the sniper button under their thumb, while others don’t notice it at all, so it largely depends on the grip. Others mention louder clicking, a scroll wheel that’s too easy to press, or a smooth surface that might cause issues for people with sweaty hands. One owner returned the mouse because it was too light for them, and weights cannot be added to it.

Who won’t the BANSHEE Wireless suit?

At 1,019 CZK, I wouldn’t hesitate for long

The BANSHEE Wireless isn’t a mouse for every hand, but those with larger palms who primarily play shooters will get features for 1,019 CZK with code ALZADNY40 that you don’t usually see in wireless mice around a thousand: a PAW 3950 sensor, 8,000 Hz wirelessly, and three connection methods. Owners of smaller hands and fans of heavy mice should choose elsewhere. At this price, I would go for the wireless BANSHEE; it’s 340 CZK cheaper than in the last promotion.
