Rapture VENOM V2 gaming mouse now costs 299 CZK. It hasn't been cheaper since June

Over 10,000 people have already bought the Rapture VENOM V2 on Alza, and it’s not surprising. For little money, it offers two interchangeable covers, weights under the lid, and its own software for macros and backlighting. Now, with code ALZADNY40, you can get it for 299 CZK instead of the usual 499 CZK, making it the cheapest since June. However, one recurring issue in reviews is worth knowing about beforehand.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense if you’re looking for an affordable wired mouse for gaming and work, which you can customize with covers, weights, and software.
⚠️ Consider that some buyers report random disconnections from the computer and double-clicks of the left button.
💡 For 299 CZK, you also get a three-year warranty, so any potential defect can be resolved by claiming it.

It usually costs 499 CZK, with the code it’s two hundred less

The usual price of the Rapture VENOM V2 mouse on Alza is 499 CZK, and in the last promotion, it dropped to 349 CZK. Code ALZADNY40 brings it down to 299 CZK, so you save 200 CZK or 40%.

The mouse hasn’t been cheaper since June. However, it’s not the absolute lowest price. One buyer in a January review wrote that they bought it for 254 CZK with a discount back then. Those who aren’t in a hurry can wait to see if such a price returns. But no one has a guarantee that it will.

PixArt Sensor and Seven Sensitivity Levels in Colors

The optical sensor PixArt PAW 3327 with sensitivity up to 12,000 DPI handles tracking. You can switch between seven levels starting from 800 DPI, and the mouse will indicate each with a different backlight color, so you know at a glance what setting you’re on. The manufacturer also states a tracking speed of 220 IPS, acceleration of 30G, and a polling rate of up to 1,000 Hz. This is more than sufficient for casual gaming and office work, and the upper limit of 12,000 DPI is more of a spec sheet number.

The left and right buttons sit on Kailh GM 4.0 switches, which the manufacturer promises a lifespan of 60 million clicks. A total of seven buttons can be programmed, including the side buttons under the thumb, and the RGB backlighting offers 11 modes. The cable is braided, measures 1.8 meters, and ends with a classic USB-A connector.

You can change the cover without tools, but the weights won’t change much

Alza states a weight of 107 grams, which you can adjust using six four-gram weights under the cover. There are two covers in the package, a solid one and a perforated one, and according to buyers, they are held by magnets, so you can swap them in a few seconds. The perforated one is lighter and better ventilated. However, one reviewer points out that dust falls into it and it sometimes creaks.

Two buyers re-weighed the weights and found them to be 2.28 and 2.78 grams instead of the promised four grams. Anyone hoping to make the mouse significantly heavier or lighter might be disappointed. Even without the weights, some people perceive it as quite heavy.

Settings are handled by its own software, which buyers praise the most. It’s small, fast, available in Czech, and the mouse remembers saved settings even without it, so you can easily uninstall it after customization. Just be aware that, according to buyers, the application is only available for Windows.

Buyers Praise the Software, Most Complain About Disconnections

On Alza, the VENOM V2 has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 206 reviews, 86% of customers recommend it, and Alza classifies its 1.8% return rate as low. However, the ratings are aggregated across colors, including the white and pink versions. People most often highlight the price-to-features ratio, shape, interchangeable covers, and braided cable.

On the other hand, random disconnections from the computer are a recurring issue in reviews. For some, the mouse disconnects a few times a day, for others, it happens after just a few minutes of use. Other buyers report double-clicks of the left button, which appeared either from the start or after several weeks. A few people also complain about a skipping or rattling scroll wheel and sensitive side buttons that they accidentally press with their thumb.

With a return rate of 1.8%, this is likely a minority of units, but it’s still good that the mouse comes with a three-year warranty. And one practical tip from reviews: if your mouse drags on the pad, check if you’ve removed the protective films from the glides on the underside.

Who should opt for a different mouse?

Do you mainly play competitive shooters and want the lightest possible mouse? Then 107 grams will likely bother you, and a lighter model with a newer sensor would be a better choice, such as the wired Rapture BANSHEE, which we wrote about in July. If loud clicking bothers you, be aware that several buyers describe it as quite noisy. And if you use Linux or Mac at home, you’ll miss out on the software that buyers praise most on the VENOM V2.

The Venom V2 will generally be a good buy for 299 CZK

The Rapture VENOM V2 is neither light nor quiet, and not every unit boasts reliability. However, for 299 CZK with code ALZADNY40, you get a mouse that you can customize with covers, weights, and software. I would consider it as a first gaming mouse for a child, a replacement for a worn-out office mouse, or an inexpensive backup for a second computer. The risk of disconnections or double-clicks is present, but the three-year warranty largely shifts that risk to the seller. Those who want a lightweight mouse for shooters or a wireless one should pay extra.

Is a three-hundred-crown mouse enough for your gaming, or would you prefer to pay extra for a lighter body and a better sensor?
