Realme Watch 5: When you want Apple Watch Ultra for the price of a better lunch Home News Realme Watch 5 arrives after 3 years with 14-day battery life and a 1.97" AMOLED display The design strikingly resembles Apple Watch Ultra, but for a fraction of the price For 70 euros, you get GPS, NFC payments, and 108 sports modes Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 27. 9. 2025 14:30 Advertisement After three years of waiting, they are finally here. Realme Watch 5 appeared on the official Czech website, and it’s immediately clear where they drew inspiration from. That square design with a prominent bezel looks strikingly like the Apple Watch Ultra. Only instead of 20 thousand, it costs 70 euros (about 1,700 CZK). Is it a brilliant move or an embarrassing copy? Design “inspired” by Apple Let’s not be naive – Realme doesn’t even try to hide where it found inspiration. The square 1.97-inch AMOLED display, massive bezel, digital crown on the side with an orange accent – everything screams Apple Watch. Only instead of titanium, you get plastic, and instead of 2000 nits of brightness, “only” 600. The resolution of 390 × 450 pixels is not bad, and the 60Hz refresh rate ensures smooth animations. The AMOLED panel means vibrant colors and an always-on display. For 70 euros, simply don’t expect more. 14 days of battery life: at what cost? Realme promises up to 14 days of typical use or 20 days in power-saving mode. That sounds great until you find out that the watch doesn’t run on Wear OS, but on a proprietary system. No Gemini, no third-party apps, no replying to messages. It’s a classic choice – either a smartwatch that you charge every day, or a fitness tracker with a display that lasts two weeks. Realme chose the latter path. What can it do for 70 euros? Surprisingly, quite a lot: GPS and GNSS for tracking without a phone NFC for contactless payments (but beware, it probably won’t work in the Czech Republic) 108 sports modes IP68 water and dust resistance Heart rate and blood oxygen measurement Over 300 watch faces Realme even promises a “gaming mode”, but no one knows what that means. Playing Tetris on a 2-inch display? Controlling games on your phone? A mystery. Availability: Germany yes, Czech Republic maybe The Watch 5 is already on German Amazon for 70 euros, but delivery is not until November 3rd. It has not officially arrived in the Czech Republic, and it’s unclear if it will. In any case, they have an official product page in Czech. What do you think of the new Realme Watch 5?
