As we exclusively informed you in mid-February, the Redmi Buds 8 Pro headphones have arrived on the Czech market with a price of 1,799 CZK, which is 200 CZK less than the previous generation cost at launch. Xiaomi thus continues its aggressive pricing policy, offering headphones with features that you would only find in higher price ranges from competitors. The main attractions are advanced drivers and powerful ANC.

Triple drivers for more detailed sound

The main technical highlight of the Redmi Buds 8 Pro is the coaxial system with three drivers. The design consists of an 11mm bass driver with a titanium diaphragm complemented by a pair of 6.7mm piezoelectric ceramic treble drivers. Xiaomi states that compared to its predecessor, the Redmi Buds 6 Pro, the bass response below 100 Hz has improved by approximately 2 dB.

The headphones feature Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification and support the LDAC codec, which enables wireless audio transmission at up to 990 kbps. For movie and game enthusiasts, Dolby Audio is available with spatial sound and head-tracking functionality.

Noise cancellation up to 55 dB

Redmi Buds 8 Pro utilize hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) with a maximum attenuation of up to 55 dB in a specific frequency range. The system operates with a bandwidth of up to 5 kHz, meaning it can suppress higher frequencies of ambient noise, not just typical low-frequency hum.

The adaptive algorithm analyzes ambient sound up to 32,000 times per second and continuously adjusts the cancellation intensity. There are 20 levels of ANC depth adjustment available, so you can fine-tune the intensity according to your environment. Xiaomi has also added a special travel mode that combines ANC with masking sound optimized for airplanes, trains, and public transport.

Three microphones for clear calls

For phone calls, there is a trio of microphones with AI noise cancellation. The design is engineered to handle outdoor conditions – Xiaomi states wind resistance up to 12 m/s. In practice, this means you should be intelligible even when making calls while walking in windy weather.

Battery life and charging

The earbuds themselves, with 54mAh batteries, last approximately 8 hours of listening with ANC off and connected via AAC. With the charging case, which has a capacity of 480 mAh, the total battery life extends to up to 33 hours. A practical feature is fast charging – 5 minutes in the case is enough for 2 hours of listening.

Charging occurs via USB-C, and the case fully charges within two hours. Unfortunately, wireless charging is absent, which is common for headphones in this price category.

Connectivity and other features

Connectivity is handled by Bluetooth 5.4 with a range of 10 meters. The headphones support Google Fast Pair for quick pairing with Android devices and allow simultaneous connection to two devices. This means you can seamlessly switch between your phone and laptop without manual re-pairing.

The software offers five playback modes: Standard, Music, Video, Ebook, and Game. Settings can be adjusted in the Xiaomi Earbuds app, available for both Android and iOS. The headphones have IP54 resistance against dust and splashing water – making them suitable for exercise, but definitely not intended for swimming.

The weight of a single earbud is 5.3 grams, and the total weight including the case is 41.6 grams.

Price, availability, and evaluation

Redmi Buds 8 Pro are available in the Czech Republic for 1,799 CZK in three color variants: Obsidian Black, Glacier Blue, and Cloud White. As a bonus, Xiaomi adds 2 months of Spotify Premium for free for new users of the service.

For less than two thousand crowns, you get headphones with triple drivers, Hi-Res Audio certification, ANC with 55 dB attenuation, and solid battery life. This is a combination that you would only find at double the price from direct competitors like Sony or Jabra. On the other hand – wireless charging is missing, and IP54 resistance is not as robust as IP55 or higher in some competitors. Redmi Buds 8 Pro are an ideal choice for those looking for quality sound and effective ANC at a reasonable price, and who don’t mind the absence of some premium features.
