Redmi K100 Pro Max to get 200Mpx camera and Bose speakers. It is expected to arrive in Europe under a different name

Chinese premieres are approaching, and Xiaomi traditionally reveals its cards in parts. The Redmi K100 Pro Max will be unveiled on August 11, and the company has gradually released its camera and sound system parameters on Weibo. The successor to last year’s K90 Pro Max targets buyers who want flagship features without a flagship price.

Three lenses covering a decent range

The main role is played by a 200Mpx sensor, complemented by a five-times periscopic telephoto lens and a 50Mpx wide-angle camera with a 17 mm focal length equivalent. Xiaomi also published sample photos across focal lengths from 17 through 24, 48, and 120 up to 240 mm, which on paper provides an unusually wide range. The company also boasts one hundred times digital zoom – but here, sobriety is in order: such zoom serves more for marketing than for taking usable pictures.

Subwoofer in a phone

The audio aspect is more interesting. The phone is set to feature a 2.1 system tuned by Bose, meaning two full-range drivers complemented by a separate 1620-sized subwoofer. This is a relatively rare configuration in mobile phones, but Czechs are already familiar with it from last year’s POCO F8 Ultra, or the Chinese Redmi K90 Ultra.

Nine thousand milliamp-hours and a question mark over Europe

Xiaomi had previously confirmed the rest of the specifications: a 6.9-inch OLED with a 185 Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, and a 9,070 mAh battery. This is a significant jump compared to last year’s 7,560 mAh. The question remains whether the phone will reach our market – officially, Xiaomi is not talking about a global launch, but its predecessor entered world markets rebranded as the aforementioned Poco F8 Ultra, so a similar scenario is likely.
