Redmi K90 Pro Max will get insane specs! It will offer a 5x telephoto lens and a huge battery

Following the design reveal last week, Xiaomi continues to gradually introduce its latest flagship phone, the Redmi K90 Pro Max. This time, it comes with detailed information about its camera setup and battery, confirming the brand’s ambition to compete with significantly more expensive phones. The official launch will take place on Thursday, October 23, in China.

Premium cameras including a 5x telephoto lens

The Redmi K90 Pro Max boasts a trio of 50Mpx sensors, a setup worthy of flagship phones. The main camera uses the Light Fusion 950 sensor with a size of 1/1.31″, which is also found in the base Xiaomi 17 model. This sensor offers a high dynamic range of 13.5 EV and advanced DXG technology for better image processing.

A significant new feature is the 5x periscopic telephoto lens Samsung JN5 – this is the first Redmi brand phone ever with such a high zoom. The third sensor is a 50Mpx ultrawide-angle lens OV50M. All three cameras thus have high resolution, which will ensure high-quality photos across various focal lengths.

Furthermore, the main sensor includes hybrid glass-plastic optics 1G+6P with individual surface treatment for each lens, which minimizes glare and improves overall image quality, especially when shooting against the light.

Record-breaking battery surpasses all previous Redmi phones

With a capacity of 7,560mAh, the Redmi K90 Pro Max will offer the largest battery ever in a phone of this brand. For comparison, the previous record holder, the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, had a 7,550mAh battery, so this time it’s a rather small step up.

The phone also supports 100W wired charging and, as a bonus, adds 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi also considered compatibility with other devices – the K90 Pro Max handles the PPS protocol up to 100W and offers 22.5W reverse wireless charging for recharging headphones, smartwatches, or other accessories.

Flagship features including the display from Xiaomi 17 Pro Max

The Redmi K90 Pro Max will feature a 6.9″ M10 OLED display with 2K resolution, also used by the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate and independent pixel field technology for accurate color reproduction. It also includes Qingshan Eye Protection 3.0 with the ability to reduce brightness down to 1 nit.

Performance will be provided by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, complemented by the D2 graphics chip. A cooling system with an area of 6,700 mm² is used for heat dissipation. The phone will also offer three speakers, including a rear one with Bose technology, a metal mid-frame, and IP68/69 certification for dust and water resistance.

According to unofficial information, the Redmi K90 Pro Max could reach global markets under the name Poco F8 Ultra. The official presentation in China will take place on October 23; Xiaomi has not yet announced prices or availability for other markets.
