Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro are here. Xiaomi gave them huge batteries Home News Xiaomi introduced Redmi Note 17 and the more powerful Redmi Note 17 Pro in China The main attraction are the huge batteries – 8000 mAh in the base model and a full 9000 mAh in the Pro version In conversion, prices start at approximately 4,100 CZK, but Xiaomi has not yet confirmed the official arrival in the Czech Republic Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 14. 7. 2026 12:30 Advertisement The Redmi Note series has long been one of the best-selling affordable phones, and Xiaomi doesn’t want to lose momentum with it. Today, it officially unveiled the duo of Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro in China – and even though we wrote earlier based on leaks what they would look like, we now finally know the complete specifications and prices. One thing is clear right away: the main weapon of both new products are large batteries. Redmi Note 17 Pro: battery increased to 9000 mAh, but a camera was removed The base Redmi Note 17 opted for a seven-inch OLED What has improved compared to the Redmi Note 15 series? Price and availability Redmi Note 17 Pro: battery increased to 9000 mAh, but a camera was removed The flagship of the new series is currently the Redmi Note 17 Pro – what will happen with the previously rumored Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, we don’t know yet. The manufacturer packed a 9000 mAh battery into a body with a thickness of 8.46 mm and a weight of 226 grams, which is a fantastic number for a phone in this price category. 67W wired charging takes care of energy replenishment, and the phone also offers 22.5W reverse charging, allowing it to serve as a power bank for other devices. On the front, you’ll find a 6.83-inch panel with 1.5K resolution and a peak brightness of up to 3500 nits, rounded on the sides into four gently curved edges. Inside, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset is at work – it’s clear from this that the Pro isn’t aiming for performance records, but rather focuses on endurance. The new device can also withstand a good deal of water and dust, as it carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications. There will be four color variants to choose from. And where were the savings made? The Redmi Note 17 Pro has only one camera on its back, a 50Mpx wide-angle one. It is complemented only by a 2Mpx depth sensor. No ultrawide, no telephoto lens. Just one usable sensor, like in the old days. We can only guess the reason, but I would assume the trail leads to the memory crisis, which forces manufacturers to save in other areas. We discussed this topic in more detail in a separate article. The base Redmi Note 17 opted for a seven-inch OLED The more affordable Redmi Note 17 takes a similar, but slightly different path. Its biggest pride is the first-ever seven-inch OLED display in the series’ history – specifically, it’s a panel with a resolution of 2396 × 1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and brightness up to 1800 nits. The large display is accompanied by a large battery: 8000 mAh with 45W charging support, which the manufacturer claims can last two days on a single charge. Inside, there’s a more power-efficient Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset manufactured with a 4nm process, along with NFC, an infrared port, and a microSD card slot. The phone heavily relies on fraud protection – it can reportedly detect and block fraudulent calls and even warn about artificially generated faces in video calls. What has improved compared to the Redmi Note 15 series? Xiaomi skipped the series with the number 16, so the direct predecessor is last year’s fifteen – and the leap in endurance is significant. The base model grew from 5800 to 8000 mAh, while the Pro version jumped from 7000 to a full 9000 mAh (and charging in its case increased from 45 W to 67 W). Durability is also higher: last year’s Pro had “only” IP68, this year IP69 and IP69K were added. It is, however, important to emphasize that we are comparing Chinese versions among themselves – European versions typically differ from them mainly in battery size. Price and availability Redmi Note 17 starts at 1299 yuan (approximately 4,100 CZK in conversion) for the 6/128 GB version, while Redmi Note 17 Pro starts at 1599 yuan (about 5,000 CZK). Xiaomi has not specified if and when the Redmi Note 17 will appear in the Czech Republic – however, modified variants of previous series traditionally made their way to Europe. Would you bet on the longest possible battery life for a phone under five thousand, even at the cost of slower charging?
