The Redmi Note series has long been one of the best-selling mid-range phones, and its new generation has been speculated about for several months. Now, specific parameters for the base Redmi Note 17 and the Note 17 Pro model have appeared. And even though it’s just a leak for now, one number stands out: a battery with a capacity of up to 10,000 mAh.

What powers the Redmi Note 17 and its Pro version?

Let’s start with what powers the phones. According to the leak, the base model is expected to get a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip from Qualcomm, while the more powerful Note 17 Pro will opt for the MediaTek Dimensity 7500. Both phones should offer a flat display with 1.5K resolution. The refresh rate and diagonal size are not yet known.

Battery with a capacity of up to 10,000 mAh

However, the biggest draw of the entire leak is the batteries. The Redmi Note 17 is expected to feature a 9,000 mAh battery, while the Pro version will boast a full 10,000 mAh – values that just two years ago were more common in external chargers than in regular phones. How fast they will charge is not yet known, nor do we know the thickness or weight that such a powerful energy source will require.

What about the cameras?

Regarding photography, the leak focused mainly on the main sensors. The cheaper model is expected to get a 50Mpx main camera, while the Note 17 Pro will once again feature a 200Mpx sensor. We don’t know anything yet about the wide-angle lens, potential telephoto lens, or front camera – similar to the size of RAM or storage. Both phones should also be water-resistant, but the leak does not specify the exact IP rating.

They will arrive in Europe later and possibly with weaker specifications

The launch of the base Redmi Note 17 is expected as early as July, according to current speculation, with Pro models to follow in late July or August. However, it’s important to note: all mentioned parameters apply to the Chinese variants. Global – and thus European – versions have historically differed in features and battery capacity and arrived on shelves several months later.
