Redmi Note 17 to head outside China next month

Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 17 series in China just a few days ago, and the new products are already heading out into the world. According to a leaker, India will be the first market outside its homeland, and the wait shouldn’t be long. The base model is expected to arrive there on August 6, with the first sale reportedly taking place five days later.

When will Redmi Note 17 arrive in India?

The dates were published on X by leaker Abhishek Yadav, who is usually well-informed regarding the Indian availability of new products. According to his post, the Redmi Note 17 will officially be unveiled in India on August 6, with the first sale starting on August 11.

Along with the date, the informant also reiterated some of the features the Indian version is expected to offer: an OLED display, an 8000 mAh battery, a main camera with a 50Mpx Light Fusion 400 sensor, and an eight-megapixel selfie camera. Most of this aligns with what the brand already showed at its Chinese premiere, so no major surprises are likely for the global version.

Redmi Note 17: large battery and 7″ display

In China, the series launched last week, and the base model proved to be a surprisingly generously equipped mid-range phone. It features a seven-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2396 × 1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and brightness up to 1800 nits. Performance is handled by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chip, manufactured with a 4nm process.

Power is supplied by an 8000 mAh battery, which the phone charges with 45W charging. It also features NFC, an infrared port, and a microSD card slot – a combination often not found in more expensive models. Redmi Note 17 Pro: faster chip and superb brightness

Those who want more will opt for the Redmi Note 17 Pro model. It features a more powerful Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and a brighter 6.83-inch display with peak brightness up to 3500 nits, and in China, it adds a massive 9000 mAh battery with 67W charging. The camera setup is dominated by a 50Mpx main sensor complemented by a smaller depth sensor, and the phone also boasts advanced IP69K durability.

However, some parameters are likely to change for the global version. According to database leaks, the Pro model outside China should get a slightly smaller battery around 8340 mAh and also appear in 6/128 GB and 4/64 GB memory variants. The combination with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage seems quite meager for 2026. There are also speculations about a re-branded variant under the POCO brand.

When will the new products arrive in the Czech Republic?

The August 6 date currently applies only to India, while the series itself premiered first in China. No one has yet confirmed a specific European or direct Czech launch date. However, the Redmi Note series traditionally makes its way to local shelves, so we just have to wait. Furthermore, we should also see the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max model, which was not introduced in China.
