RTX 5060 finally dropped in price! For less than 8 thousand, it offers a good price/performance ratio

  • Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5060 WINDFORCE MAX OC 8G is a compact graphics card with NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4.0 support
  • It currently costs 7,899 CZK – in January, due to memory price increases, it went up to almost 10 thousand
  • Key limitation: only 8 GB GDDR7 – sufficient for 1080p, but some games may struggle at 1440p

The RTX 5060 is the gateway to the new generation of NVIDIA Blackwell – and the Gigabyte WINDFORCE MAX OC version for 7,899 CZK is one of the most compact variants on the market. You get DLSS 4.0 with Multi Frame Generation, fourth-generation ray tracing, and factory overclocking. While the price is not historically the lowest (last year it was about 500 CZK lower), it has returned to a more reasonable level compared to almost 10 thousand in January. The question everyone will ask: is eight gigabytes enough in 2026?

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you primarily play at 1080p and want the latest generation with DLSS 4 and ray tracing at a reasonable price.
⚠️ Consider carefully if you play at 1440p on Ultra – 8 GB VRAM will be a limitation in some titles, and you will have to lower details.
💡 For 7,899 CZK, you get Blackwell architecture, GDDR7 memory, compact dimensions (199 mm), and power via a single 8-pin connector.

What the card offers and how it performs in practice

The RTX 5060 WINDFORCE MAX OC is built on the GB206 chip with 3,840 CUDA cores, fifth-generation Tensor Cores, and fourth-generation RT Cores. The memory is 8 GB GDDR7 on a 128-bit bus (28 Gbps). The boost clock reaches 2,512 MHz thanks to factory overclocking. Outputs: 3× DisplayPort 2.1b and 1× HDMI 2.1b.

In benchmarks without DLSS, the card handles 1080p at Ultra/High settings very solidly – Assassin’s Creed Mirage around 100 FPS, Cyberpunk 2077 with ray tracing on Low around 95 FPS, Shadow of the Tomb Raider with ray tracing on Ultra over 90 FPS. At 1440p, numbers drop to 50–90 FPS depending on the game, and for more demanding titles like Black Myth Wukong, the average is around 38 FPS without DLSS. However, enabling DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation dramatically boosts performance – and that is the main strength of the Blackwell generation at this price point.

The WINDFORCE cooling with two Hawk Fans keeps the GPU under load at around 70–73 °C. The graphics card’s power consumption is around 144 W, requiring a power supply of 550 W or more with a single 8-pin connector. Dimensions of just 199 × 116 × 40 mm mean it fits even into compact cases – a significant advantage over larger RTX 5060 versions. The 3D Active Fan feature turns off the fans at low load.

Only 8 GB VRAM

There’s no point in sugarcoating it – 8 GB of VRAM will be a noticeable limitation in 2026. At 1080p on high details, it’s usually sufficient. However, in some titles (Far Cry 6, Hogwarts Legacy, Cities: Skylines 2), warnings about insufficient memory already appear at Ultra settings, and the image starts to stutter. At 1440p, it’s more noticeable – you’ll have to reduce textures or quality. With DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation, the situation improves because the card renders at a lower resolution and upscales, but it doesn’t solve the VRAM limit itself. If you plan to use the card for 4–5 years, it’s fair to say that 8 GB will become increasingly restrictive. The RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB is, of course, a better choice, but it costs significantly more.

Verdict

The Gigabyte RTX 5060 WINDFORCE MAX OC for 7,899 CZK is a solid choice for gamers who primarily play at 1080p and want access to the latest technologies – DLSS 4, fourth-generation ray tracing, GDDR7. Its compact dimensions and low power consumption make it an ideal card for smaller builds. However, it’s important to have realistic expectations: 8 GB of VRAM is a compromise that will become increasingly apparent at 1440p and in future games. If 1080p and occasional detail reduction suit you, then for less than 8 thousand, it’s a fair offer.
