But now you can get it on Alza for 39,990 CZK, saving you a full 15 thousand crowns. That’s a discount that makes this fridge worth a closer look.

Smart fridge you can control with your phone

The Samsung RS80F66KBFEO is among the appliances that don’t just try to be smart for a marketing label. Thanks to its built-in Wi-Fi, the fridge connects to the SmartThings mobile app, through which you gain access to several useful features. For example, you can remotely change the temperature, switch cooling modes, or be notified if the doors remain open for too long.

An interesting feature is the AI Energy mode, which monitors electricity consumption in the SmartThings Energy app and intelligently adjusts the compressor speed and defrost cycle according to your habits. Samsung states that this can reduce consumption by up to 10% compared to the default settings. The app also allows you to set a monthly consumption target and compare your performance in real-time against previous months.

Through the SmartThings Food service, you can keep track of food in the fridge, including consumption dates, and get recipe recommendations based on available ingredients. The Home Care section will notify you when it’s time to replace the water filter or perform maintenance. Samsung has also integrated the Bixby voice assistant into the fridge, which understands voice commands – however, it’s important to note that it is unfortunately not available in Czech.

You can set the opening angle in the SmartThings app, either for a wide opening (over 80°) or a partial opening with automatic closing after a certain time.

Another clever feature is Smart Conversion, which, thanks to Twin Cooling technology, allows switching between five cooling modes. In practice, this means you can temporarily convert the freezer into an additional refrigeration space if you need to store a larger grocery haul. Alternatively, you can turn off an unused compartment to save energy.

The Samsung RS80F66KBFEO is a double-door American fridge with a total volume of 634 liters, of which 409 liters are for the refrigerator compartment and 225 liters for the freezer. Inside, you’ll find 4 shelves and 4 compartments in the freezer. The fridge uses Twin Cooling Plus technology with two independent cooling circuits, preventing odors from mixing between compartments and keeping food fresh longer.

On the front, there is a water and ice dispenser connected directly to the water supply – eliminating the need to refill a tank or break out ice cubes from molds. Inside the doors, the wider Rack & Shelf is a welcome feature, accommodating bottles up to 105 mm wide.

On the back wall of the refrigeration compartment is a Metal Cooling panel, which helps to more quickly compensate for heat loss when the doors are opened frequently. Compared to older generations, it offers 4.1× higher inertia and quieter operation, according to the manufacturer, with artificial intelligence continuously adjusting its speed according to current conditions and your habits. The fridge falls into energy class B with an annual consumption of 180 kWh. Dimensions are 178.4 × 91.2 × 72.6 cm (H×W×D) and weight is 140 kg.

Who it’s for and who it’s not for

The Samsung RS80F66KBFEO is suitable for larger households and spacious kitchens, where you’ll utilize its over 600-liter capacity and water dispenser connected to the main water supply. Smart features around the SmartThings app will be appreciated by those who want to monitor consumption and enjoy interacting with their appliances. On the other hand – if you’re looking for a compact fridge for a small kitchen or don’t need mobile connectivity, there are significantly more suitable alternatives. Also, be aware that the Bixby voice assistant does not work in Czech, and you will need a connection to the main water supply for the water dispenser.
