Samsung officially announced the arrival of its thinnest phone Galaxy S25 Edge on the Czech market. The elegant smartphone, which we first saw in mid-May, was launched here late last week. Last month, we exclusively informed you that the phone appeared in Alza’s offer, which correctly indicated its arrival here. Unfortunately, the manufacturer’s recommended Czech prices are not exactly competitive.

High Czech Prices vs. Cheaper EU Distribution

Samsung set prices for the Czech market at 31,499 CZK for the 256 GB version and 34,499 CZK for the 512 GB model. While an introductory discount is valid until August 31, which will reduce prices to 23,999 CZK and 26,999 CZK respectively, even that is significantly more than what the EU distribution phone sells for.

European versions of the Galaxy S25 Edge have already significantly dropped below the 20 thousand CZK mark, which represents a saving of several thousand compared to the official Czech distribution even after the discount. The only benefit of the Czech version is a direct warranty from Samsung and a bonus in the form of a six-month Google AI Pro subscription with 2TB of free cloud storage.

Record-Thin Design with Titanium Frame

The Galaxy S25 Edge stands out with a thickness of just 5.8 millimeters and a weight of 163 grams. The titanium frame ensures high strength despite the extremely slim profile. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 glass-ceramic material, and the phone retains IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.

Due to the thin body, Samsung redesigned almost all components, including the cooling system. The new vapor chamber is thinner but wider to manage heat dissipation from the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. It is complemented by 12 GB of RAM and storage with a capacity of 256 or 512 GB.

200-megapixel Camera Adopted from the Ultra Series

The main 200Mpx wide-angle lens with an f/1.7 aperture and optical stabilization offers 40% higher brightness for night photography than the standard Galaxy S25. It is complemented by a 12Mpx ultra-wide-angle camera with autofocus, which can also handle macro shots. The front camera has a resolution of 12 Mpx.

The phone uses the ProVisual Engine image processor, just like other S25 series models. The features include AI functions such as Audio Eraser for removing unwanted sounds from videos or Drawing Assist for creative edits.

Weaker Battery as a Price for Thin Design

The 6.7-inch display uses Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology with QHD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 1–120 Hz. Maximum brightness reaches 2,600 nits.

The biggest compromise is the battery with a capacity of only 3,900 mAh, which is less than the basic Galaxy S25. Charging supports a maximum power of 25 W – the phone charges to 55% in 30 minutes. Wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare for sharing power with other devices are also present.

Will Edge Replace the Plus Model in the Future?

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is available in the Czech Republic in two colors – Titanium Gray and Titanium Black. According to unofficial information, the Edge model could replace the current Plus variant in the next generation Galaxy S26, which has long struggled with lower customer interest (however, according to earlier reports from Korea, even the S25 Edge is not exactly a sales hit).

If the ultra-thin design appeals to you, definitely consider buying the cheaper EU version. The difference of several thousand CZK is significant, and the only thing you’ll miss out on is the official Czech warranty and the bonus of a Google AI Pro subscription.

Will you buy the Galaxy S25 Edge at the official price, or will you opt for the cheaper EU version?
