The well-known leaker Ice Universe has revealed that the upcoming flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra will finally get faster charging. After years, finally a significant improvement

Samsung has long stagnated in the area of fast charging, while competitors are moving forward by leaps and bounds. While models like Galaxy S22 Ultra, S23 Ultra, S24 Ultra, or S25 Ultra offered a maximum of 45 W, Chinese manufacturers have delivered values significantly exceeding 100 W. In the case of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, this should be the first major upgrade in this area for several generations.

Although Ice Universe did not reveal the exact charging power value, based on previous leaks, it is speculated that it could be charging with a power of around 67 W. This would represent an almost 50% increase compared to the current state, which should result in significantly shorter phone charging times.

Catching up with the competition, but still lagging

Even with the expected improvement, the South Korean giant will still lag behind some rivals – Chinese competition typically offers values from 80 W upwards. On the other hand, Samsung traditionally focuses on long-term battery life, which is one reason for its more conservative approach to fast charging.

The current 45W charging can charge the current Galaxy S25 Ultra model from 0 to 100% in approximately one hour. With the new, more powerful solution, this time could be significantly shortened, provided there isn’t an enormous increase in battery capacity.

In addition to faster charging, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is also expected to feature a new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 processor and improved cameras. Many also believe that Samsung will redesign the phone’s appearance, which has not changed much over the last few generations.
