Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 represents an evolution, but in some ways, this affordable tablet has fallen behind

Samsung has introduced a new affordable Galaxy Tab A11 tablet in some global markets. Although we are still waiting for the official announcement for the Czech market, the device has already appeared in the catalog of one of the domestic retailers. The basic Wi-Fi version with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage costs 4,499 CZK, while the LTE variant costs 5,499 CZK. Compared to the Galaxy Tab A9 model from two years ago, it brings a few improvements that make it a potentially interesting choice for undemanding users.

Simple Design Reportedly Inspired by Flagships

The Galaxy Tab A11 reportedly draws design inspiration from the premium Galaxy S Series – at least, that’s what Samsung claims; it wouldn’t have occurred to me at first glance. The tablet is characterized by clean lines and minimalist design, which appears simple and quite elegant. Samsung offers it in two color variants: gray (Gray) and silver (Silver). With dimensions of 211 x 124.7 x 8 mm and a weight of 337 grams, the tablet remains compact and easily portable.

90Hz Display for Smoother Visuals

The biggest novelty is the 8.7-inch TFT display with a 90Hz refresh rate. While the previous Galaxy Tab A9 offered a standard 60 Hz, the new model provides significantly smoother visuals when browsing the web, scrolling social media, or playing games. The resolution of 1340 x 800 pixels is not record-breaking, but it’s sufficient for everyday use. Samsung also claims that the display remains easily readable even in direct sunlight.

Sufficient Performance for Everyday Tasks

Under the hood, for some reason, the same octa-core processor MediaTek Helio G99 ticks as in the Tab A9 model. One would expect the South Korean manufacturer to deliver a newer chip after such a long time, but apparently, we’re not getting one. Samsung offers two memory configurations: the basic 4/64GB or the more equipped 8/128GB variant. If the internal storage isn’t enough for you, you can expand it with a microSD card by up to 2TB. The tablet runs on the latest Android 15.

Significantly Better Front Camera for Video Calls

Samsung listened to criticism of the weak 2MP selfie camera on the Tab A9 model and equipped the new tablet with a 5MP front camera. The difference is noticeable especially during video calls, which are sharper and more natural. The rear 8MP camera remained the same as its predecessor and supports Full HD video recording at 30 fps.

Quality Sound and Solid Endurance

The Galaxy Tab A11 features dual stereo speakers with Dolby technology for an immersive audio experience. A 3.5mm jack for headphones is also present. The 5,100 mAh battery is unfortunately weaker than today’s flagship phones, which are significantly smaller, and its 15W charging won’t exactly thrill you either.

Who is the Galaxy Tab A11 ideal for?

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 primarily targets seniors and families with children looking for an affordable tablet for basic use. With a price starting from 4,499 CZK, it represents a reasonable compromise between performance and price. It is particularly suitable for watching videos, browsing the web, reading e-books, and video calls. Thanks to the 90Hz display, it offers a smoother user experience than the previous model.

The LTE version for 5,499 CZK will be appreciated by those who need to be online even outside of Wi-Fi range. The tablet supports one nano-SIM card and offers complete connectivity including GPS, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi ac.

We are still waiting for the official launch of the Galaxy Tab A11 on the Czech market, but its availability at local retailers suggests that it should soon appear in wider distribution.
