Samsung is currently actively deploying the One UI 8 interface to its mobile phones and tablets. Now it’s the turn of smartwatches. After more than three months of beta testing, the South Korean giant is finally starting to roll out the stable version of One UI 8 Watch for last year’s Galaxy Watch7 model. SamMobile reported on this.

Gradual Rollout in South Korea

The update to One UI 8 Watch based on Wear OS 6 is currently only appearing for Galaxy Watch7 owners in South Korea who previously participated in the beta program. For these users, the update size is approximately 160 MB and carries the designation L310XXU1BYI4, including security patches from September 2025.

Other users who did not participate in beta testing will have to wait a few more days or weeks. For them, the update will have a significantly larger volume of around 2 GB. Samsung usually rolls out new versions gradually across regions, so European customers, including Czech ones, will likely receive it in the coming weeks.

Main New Features of One UI 8 Watch

The new version brings significant user interface improvements and a range of health and fitness-focused features. Among the most prominent new features is the Now Bar, which displays all ongoing activities in one place. The watches also receive four new health features: Antioxidant Index for monitoring oxidative stress, Bedtime Guidance for sleep optimization, Running Coach with personalized training plans, and Vascular Load for monitoring vascular strain.

The One UI 8 Watch interface further improves widget management with the ability to display multiple widgets on one page, expands control via double-tap gestures, and introduces a new charging animation. Samsung has also redesigned notification display for better clarity and added several new watch faces.

Older Models Will Also Receive It

The latest Galaxy Watch8 and Watch Ultra (2025) received One UI 8 Watch upon their market launch, while last year’s Galaxy Watch Ultra (2024) received the update in July. Samsung has also been testing One UI 8 Watch for several weeks on Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic models. Even older Galaxy Watch5 and Watch4 have the update promised, although due to older hardware, they will likely receive it later.

To download the update, simply open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, go to watch settings, and select the software update option. After downloading the file, the watch will automatically restart and install the new version.

Are you looking forward to One UI 8 Watch for your Galaxy Watch?
