Samsung invented a TV that looks like a painting. Now you can buy it for 40 thousand cheaper

Samsung The Frame is no ordinary TV. It’s a piece of electronics that looks like a framed painting, and now you can have it for less than half its original price. On Alza, you can currently get the 75-inch model for 29,990 crowns – a significant drop from last year’s 69,990 CZK. But beware, this isn’t a TV for everyone.

What do you actually get for 30 thousand?

The 75-inch QLED panel features a matte surface that eliminates reflections. This is a crucial advantage if you have the TV opposite a window or in a room with multiple light sources. The package also includes a wall mount and an elegant One Connect Box – an external box where you plug in all the cables. Then, only a single, almost invisible cable leads to the TV.

The panel has a resolution of 4K Ultra HD and a refresh rate of 100/120 Hz, which is sufficient even for gaming on new consoles. It supports HDR10+, but lacks Dolby Vision. The Tizen system runs smoothly and includes all common streaming services, including Czech ones like Oneplay.

Art Mode that comes at a price

The main selling point of Frame TV is Art Mode – when you’re not using the TV, it displays works of art. Samsung has partnered with the National Gallery Prague and offers a selection of 16 paintings for free. However, the rest of the content requires a subscription, which costs approximately 1,500 crowns annually. Of course, you can upload your own photos, but that somewhat misses the point.

The matte display works wonders – the TV truly looks like a framed painting. You can purchase magnetic frames in various colors to further enhance the impression. One user wrote in a review that visitors often don’t realize they’re looking at a TV.

Where The Frame falls short

If you’re expecting top-notch picture quality, you’ll be disappointed. For 30 thousand today, you can get MiniLED or OLED with better contrast and black color. The Frame uses a VA panel with Edge LED backlighting, so don’t expect any local dimming. In dark scenes, black areas tend to be grayish.

Who is The Frame for at 30 thousand?

This TV makes sense if:

• Design is a priority for you – you want the TV not to look like a black hole on the wall
• You have a lot of light in the room – the matte display is unparalleled in this regard
• You are not a demanding viewer – you are satisfied with average picture quality
• You appreciate practical cabling – the One Connect Box is an ingenious solution

On the other hand, you should get something else if:

• You want the best picture for your money – Hisense or TCL will offer more
• You watch a lot of movies in a dark room – black won’t be black

Verdict: Style at a fair price

Samsung The Frame is a TV for people who care more about how the TV looks when it’s off than when it’s on. At its original 70 thousand, it was an exorbitant price for design. At the current 30 thousand, it’s a reasonable compromise.

Samsung The Frame 75″ is currently available on Alza for 29,990 CZK.
