Samsung is already preparing another bestseller. Galaxy A57 appeared in Geekbench with a new processor

Samsung has evidently started working on the successor to this year’s mid-range model Galaxy A56, which was only introduced in March. A prototype phone with a new Exynos 1680 processor has now appeared in the Geekbench benchmark database, most likely belonging to the upcoming Galaxy A57 model.

New Processor with Surprising Graphics

In the Geekbench database, the phone appeared under the designation “Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Full Android on S5E8865 ERD”. The code name S5E8865 belongs to the Exynos 1680 processor, which will likely replace the current Exynos 1580 from the Galaxy A56 model. Of interest is the Xclipse 550 graphics chip, which surprisingly contains only 2 compute units compared to four in its predecessor.

Despite the smaller number of compute units, the prototype achieved an OpenCL test score of 6524 points, which is almost comparable to the performance of the Xclipse 540 graphics. The processor again has 8 cores divided into three clusters, and the tested model featured 8 GB of RAM.

When Can We Expect the Official Introduction?

Samsung has not yet announced any details about the Galaxy A57 – and we will most likely have to wait a long time for any official information. However, it can be expected that the new model will arrive again in the spring and will be priced at approximately 12 thousand CZK (unless something significant changes).

The currently sold Samsung Galaxy A56 offers a 6.7″ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50Mpx main camera, and a 5000mAh battery with 45W charging support. In terms of software, it entices with smart features as part of the Awesome Intelligence package.
