Samsung is likely preparing its own Googlebook. A laptop with Android 17 appeared in a benchmark Home News Samsung is likely preparing its own Googlebook with Android 17 A notebook with the designation XE940XSA appeared in the Geekbench database Inside the tested unit worked a Snapdragon X Elite and 16 GB RAM Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 4. 10. 2026 14:30 Advertisement Googlebooks are just entering stores in the USA and are currently offered by five manufacturers: Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. Samsung, one of Google’s closest partners in the Android scene, is missing from the list. According to a new leak, however, he is likely preparing his own Googlebook, so Galaxy phone owners could look forward to a laptop that understands their mobile even better. What do we know about Samsung’s notebook from Geekbench? A record in the Geekbench benchmark database was highlighted on the X network by leaker Abhishek Yadav. The device bears the model designation Samsung XE940XSA, which, according to the manufacturer’s customs, belongs to a notebook. However, it does not run Windows or ChromeOS, but rather Android 17. The most probable explanation is thus Googlebook OS, which is built on Android 17. Samsung's first Googlebook (Android laptop) just showed up on Geekbench 👀– Model: Samsung XE940XSA– Runs Android 17, not Windows or ChromeOS– Chip: Snapdragon X Elite (codename Hamoa), 12 cores: 4 at 3.42GHz + 8 at 4.01GHz– GPU: Adreno X1-85– RAM: 16GB– Geekbench 7: 2513… pic.twitter.com/vnCnSnAYHQ— Abhishek Yadav (@yabhishekhd) October 2, 2026 The tested unit was powered by a chip with the codename Hamoa, behind which lies a Snapdragon X Elite from Qualcomm with twelve Oryon cores and Adreno X1-85 graphics. According to the measured clock speeds, it is most likely the X1E-80-100 variant, estimates the server GSMArena. It is complemented by 16 GB of RAM; storage information is missing from the record. In the single-core test, the notebook scored 2,513 points, and in the multi-core test, 15,214. Among Googlebooks, Samsung would not stand out with this. The same chip is found in the Dell XPS Googlebook and HP Googlebook 14, while Acer, Asus, and Lenovo rely on Intel Core Ultra processors. Sixteen gigabytes of RAM is the minimum for all current Googlebooks. It’s a bit disappointing that Samsung didn’t opt for a newer generation. The Snapdragon X Elite has been on the market since 2024, when the company deployed it in the Galaxy Book4 Edge with Windows, and the current Galaxy Book6 Edge has already received the Snapdragon X2 Elite. It’s not just about performance. While Google promises updates for up to ten years, as we pointed out during the introduction of Googlebooks, the period is counted from the chip’s release, not from the notebook’s purchase. Googlebooks only abroad for now, may arrive in Czechia next year Prices start at 899 dollars, or approximately 23 thousand CZK including VAT, for the cheapest Acer Googlebook 14. The main attraction for Android phone owners is the connection with their mobile: passwords, Wi-Fi networks, and messages will transfer to the notebook, and unfinished work from the phone can be completed on the large screen. Czechia is missing from the list of first countries. However, Lenovo representatives told us at a private briefing in Prague that Googlebooks could start selling here in January or February 2027. Some functions will not support Czech at launch. Will Samsung arrive in the second wave? That Samsung is working on an Android notebook will not surprise SamMobile readers. It already wrote this April that the manufacturer is developing Galaxy Books with the One UI 9 overlay built on Android 17. Reportedly, three models are to be created: an affordable, a mid-range, and a flagship, and Galaxy AI features as well as an improved DeX mode should not be missing. Unlike the first five, Samsung would most likely not offer a clean Google environment, but rather its own modifications in the spirit of One UI, as you know from Galaxy phones and tablets. No one has shown what they will look like yet. We also don’t know the commercial name; the manufacturer has only sold Galaxy Chromebooks so far. When Samsung will introduce the notebook is not yet clear. However, the five models from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo are only the first wave, and there is still room for other manufacturers. It is therefore plausible that Samsung could join in the second wave. However, it has not officially confirmed this yet.
