Samsung revealed when it will unveil the anticipated duo of mid-range phones. We'll see them next week

After weeks of speculation and leaks, Samsung has finally revealed when it will unveil the successors to its most popular mid-range smartphones. The Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 will officially be shown on March 25, not only in India but likely in other markets including Europe.

Galaxy A57: More powerful processor and better endurance

The mid-range flagship will feature a 6.6″ Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Power will be provided by the new Exynos 1680, which scored approximately 15% higher in the Geekbench benchmark than the current Exynos 1480. Samsung will offer variants with 6, 8, or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage.

The camera setup includes a 50Mpx main sensor, a 12Mpx ultrawide, and a 5Mpx macro camera. The selfie camera has a resolution of 12 Mpx. The battery remains at 5,000 mAh with 45W charging, but thanks to better efficiency, it should last longer – the energy label indicates a theoretical 52 hours compared to 44 hours for its predecessor.

Galaxy A37: Larger display and surprising camera

The cheaper model will feature a 6.7″ AMOLED display and an Exynos 1480 processor, the same chip as in the current Galaxy A56. However, the main draw is the camera – the Galaxy A37 will get the same 50Mpx Sony IMX906 sensor as its more expensive sibling. Compared to last year’s Galaxy A36 with a smaller sensor (1/1.95″), this is a significant improvement, as the IMX906 has an optical format of 1/1.56″ and captures more light.

The accompanying lenses consist of an 8Mpx ultrawide and a 5Mpx macro. The battery again has 5,000 mAh with 45W charging and a theoretical endurance of 53 hours.

Common improvement: IP68 resistance

Both phones have received IP68 certification, which means resistance to immersion in 1.5 meters of water. Last year’s A56 and A36 models only had IP67. Samsung is thus bringing the mid-range closer to flagship specifications. As for software, the new devices will run on Android 16 with One UI 8 and should receive six years of updates.
