Screen splitting and an AI assistant will please users Home News Samsung is preparing significant new features for its browser, including multi-window support and an AI assistant named Ask AI. The multi-window feature will allow several web pages to be displayed side-by-side simultaneously, not just on foldable phones. The new features will arrive with One UI 9, whose beta program is expected to launch in May on the Galaxy S26 series. In addition to a number of system improvements, the browser will also undergo significant changes, which, by the way, was renamed from Samsung Internet to simply Samsung Browser with the arrival of the Galaxy S26. With One UI 9, it should gain several features that will be particularly appreciated by those who use the browser for work. Easier work with multiple tabs at once Smart assistant at your fingertips Cross Device Resume and other changes Easier work with multiple tabs at once Perhaps the most practical new feature is simultaneous multi-window browser support. Instead of constantly switching between tabs, you’ll be able to open several separate windows and place them side-by-side. The feature has already been successfully implemented on the Galaxy Z Fold 7, where it’s possible to display even three browser windows simultaneously on the large inner display. Interestingly, the feature is not limited to foldable phones. SammyGuru successfully tested it on the Galaxy S21 FE, so it should be available across the entire portfolio. While you won’t achieve the same comfort on classic smartphones with smaller displays as on foldables, displaying two pages side-by-side can still be useful in certain situations. Smart assistant at your fingertips Samsung Browser in One UI 9 will also bring the Ask AI feature, which will allow you to ask questions related to the web page you are viewing, as well as other topics. According to leaked strings in the code, the AI will be able to answer follow-up questions and provide personalized answers based on browsing history. As screenshots obtained by Android Authority show, the feature is currently in beta phase. Samsung is likely using the Perplexity service as the foundation for this AI functionality. Users will have the option to set how long data from AI conversations should be retained – currently, only the “session only” option is visible in the code, with a note that data can be stored for up to 3 days. Cross Device Resume and other changes A toggle for Enable Cross Device Resume has also appeared in the debugging settings of the new browser version. It doesn’t do anything yet, but the name suggests it could allow for instant continuation of browsing on another device. How it will differ from the existing “Continue on other device” feature is not yet clear. Samsung's browser will get a load of new features.
