Samsung's first tri-fold phone reportedly to be unveiled this week

Samsung could finally unveil its long-awaited smartphone with two display folds (a so-called tri-fold phone) as early as this week. According to information from the South Korean daily The Korea Herald, the new device is set to debut at the APEC 2025 summit in Gyeongju, which will take place from October 31 to November 1.

Giant Display for Even Better Productivity

The tri-fold phone represents an entirely new format with a display that folds in two places. In its closed state, according to available information, Samsung’s new device will offer a 6.5-inch screen for regular use, but when unfolded, it will transform into a 10-inch tablet – making it even larger than the Galaxy Z Fold7’s internal display with an 8-inch diagonal.

As for the specifications, there are rumors of a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and an advanced 200Mpx camera with 100x digital zoom. Samsung is reportedly working on special software optimized specifically for the tri-fold, which would allow users to enjoy more effective productivity tools.

Limited Quantity at a Premium Price

As the South Korean newspaper writes, the production of the device will initially be very limited – Samsung plans to produce only 50,000 to 200,000 units for selected markets. With an estimated price of $2,800 (nearly 60,000 CZK in conversion), it will be a significantly more expensive device than the current Galaxy Z Fold7.

The final name has not yet been confirmed, with candidates including Galaxy G Fold or Galaxy Z TriFold. For Samsung, this is a crucial step in competing with rivals – Huawei already introduced its tri-fold Mate XT model last year, and Apple is reportedly preparing its first foldable iPhone for 2026.
