Samsung's flagship OLED TV has dropped by 60 thousand! Czechs are now snatching it up

Do you remember a time when a 77-inch OLED TV was a luxury for a hundred thousand? We do – and in the case of Samsung’s flagship, it was still like that at the beginning of this year. The Samsung QE77S90F can currently be purchased from 39,200 CZK, which is less than half of the original price. From the perspective of diagonal/price/quality ratio, this is one of the most aggressive offers on the Czech market.

What you get for under 40 thousand

The QE77S90F has everything you expect from a 2025 OLED TV. 4K resolution, perfect black thanks to self-illuminating pixels, an anti-reflective surface, and the NQ4 AI Gen3 processor with 128 neural networks for upscaling and image optimization. For movies and series, it’s an experience at this size that a 77″ LCD or Mini LED cannot achieve – in dark scenes, black doesn’t glow, contrast is essentially infinite, and HDR works with each pixel individually.

Gamers will appreciate the complete gaming equipment – a 144Hz panel in gaming mode, four HDMI 2.1 ports, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, VRR, and ALLM. It’s an ideal screen for PS5, Xbox Series X, and gaming PC owners. Bonus for Apple users: AirPlay 2 works natively, so you can get the image from your iPhone or Mac onto the TV without an Apple TV.

Note the panel type

One detail that is not often mentioned in marketing materials and users themselves point out: for the S90F series, the panel type differs by diagonal size. Specifically, the 65″ version uses a Samsung QD-OLED panel with better brightness and richer colors. Larger sizes, including the 77″ variant, are equipped with LG WOLED. In practice, the difference is slight – WOLED has a slightly lower maximum brightness but compensates with a slightly better anti-reflective coating, and for most people, the difference in normal viewing is imperceptible.

If you are sitting in a brightly lit room or the TV is facing a window, it’s good to keep in mind that OLED as a category is not designed for “showroom brightness”. For full color and contrast rendering, it needs at least some dimming – not darkness, but not full afternoon sun from behind either.

Tizen, 7 years of support, and weaker sound

Samsung runs on Tizen OS, which is fast and includes all relevant applications, including Oneplay, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Prime Video, and Apple TV+. A big advantage is the declared 7 years of updates, which will keep the TV relevant far into the future. The SmartThings feature turns the TV into a smart home hub if you have a Samsung ecosystem.

From the reviews of 50 customers, one complaint is repeated that is worth knowing – the 40W speakers are acceptable for news and casual viewing, but for a cinematic experience, we recommend adding a soundbar. This is a standard situation with all thin OLED TVs; the physics of a bass speaker cannot be circumvented in a 4cm thick body.
