It's perfect for ultralight notebooks Home News SanDisk introduces the world's smallest 1TB USB-C flash drive with dimensions of 18.5 × 15.7 × 13.6 mm The Extreme Fit flash drive offers read speeds of up to 400 MB/s and capacities from 64 GB to 1 TB In the Czech Republic, the 1TB version will be available for 2,955 CZK, the 64GB starts at 336 CZK Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 13. 11. 2025 03:30 Advertisement SanDisk has introduced a flash drive that solves one of the most common problems for notebook users – constantly connecting and disconnecting external storage. The new product is so compact that you can essentially leave it permanently connected to your device without it getting in the way during transport or work. With dimensions of just 18.5 × 15.7 × 13.6 mm, it is currently the smallest 1TB USB-C flash drive. Miniature dimensions for maximum convenience The Extreme Fit USB-C flash drive protrudes minimally from a laptop or tablet port, which will be especially appreciated by students and professionals often working in the field, and with a weight of only 3 grams, it will not pose any burden. Not that carrying a traditional flash drive in your backpack would hurt your back, but it is certainly an interesting piece of data demonstrating technological progress. SanDisk designed the device specifically for modern ultrathin notebooks and tablets with a USB-C connector. The drive works with all USB-C enabled devices, including the latest MacBooks, iPad Pros, and Windows notebooks. Compatibility includes iPadOS 15 and newer, macOS 12 Monterey and higher, or Windows 10 and 11. While the manufacturer does not explicitly mention Android support, it will almost certainly be possible to connect the flash drive to a phone and work with the data stored on it. Fast data transfers thanks to USB 3.2 Gen 1 The flash drive’s performance corresponds to the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard with a maximum theoretical throughput of 5 Gb/s. In practice, SanDisk states read speeds of up to 400 MB/s for capacities from 128 GB to 1 TB. The smaller 64GB variant achieves read speeds of 300 MB/s. The manufacturer does not specify write speeds but states that they will be lower than read speeds. If you were to buy a 1TB external SSD like the Samsung T7 for a better price, file transfers would be noticeably shorter. The mentioned South Korean model offers read speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s. On the other hand, its dimensions certainly don’t resemble a candy… Memory Zone app for automatic backup SanDisk provides the Memory Zone application with its flash drive, which works on both Windows and macOS. The software allows you to set up automatic backup of selected folders every time the drive is connected. The application also offers clear file management and the option to restore them if needed. Memory Zone requires macOS 10.15 Catalina or newer, or Windows 10 or 11. Installation is optional – the flash drive functions as a regular USB storage device even without the application. The operating temperature of the device ranges from 0 °C to 45 °C, and it can be stored at temperatures from -10 °C to 70 °C. Prices and availability in various capacities The SanDisk Extreme Fit USB-C comes in five capacity variants with the following prices: SANDISK Extreme Fit USB-C 64GB: 336 CZK SANDISK Extreme Fit USB-C 128GB: 489 CZK SANDISK Extreme Fit USB-C 256GB: 854 CZK SANDISK Extreme Fit USB-C 512GB: 1,614 CZK SANDISK Extreme Fit USB-C 1TB: 2,955 CZK All versions except the 1TB are already available in the manufacturer’s official e-shop.
