Chinese Xiaomi has expanded its smart home lineup with a new humidifier, the Mijia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro. This new product uses evaporative technology, which does not produce visible mist, and offers a performance of 600 ml/h. The device appeared on the manufacturer’s global website, indicating a possible launch in global markets.

Evaporative Technology Without Visible Mist

The Mijia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro operates on the principle of natural water evaporation, thus releasing no visible mist into the air. The humidifier achieves a performance of 600 ml/h in turbo mode, and the manufacturer recommends it for rooms sized 20 to 30 m². The device features a 3D antibacterial filter that captures impurities from both water and air.

Part of the equipment is an LED display located on the top, which shows the current room humidity. Control is provided by intuitive buttons that all household members can use. There are four operating modes available – constant humidity, sleep, turbo, and drying.

Practical Washable Filter

One of the main advantages of the new product is the aforementioned washable antibacterial filter. Xiaomi states that you can clean it manually or in a washing machine, which extends its lifespan to 6 to 12 months. The filter achieves antibacterial efficacy of over 99% against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The manufacturer recommends cleaning once a week to maintain optimal performance.

The humidifier includes a 5-liter water tank with silver ions that prevent bacterial growth. In sleep mode, the device can operate for up to 20 hours on a single fill. The tank has a wide opening for easy cleaning and a transparent window to check the water level.

Quiet Operation Suitable for the Bedroom

The Mijia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro uses a DC inverter motor with a closed water pump, achieving a noise level of just 30.7 dB(A) in sleep mode. For comparison, a normal conversation in a room ranges between 50 to 60 dB(A). When connected to the app, the display and notifications can be turned off for undisturbed sleep.

The humidifier’s design is minimalist and takes up less space than an A4 sheet of paper. Water filling is done from the top without needing to remove the lid or move the device. All main components, including the water pump, are removable and washable, which simplifies maintenance. The humidifier also includes a descaling program.

Smart Features and Home Connectivity

The device connects to the Xiaomi Home app, where you can set the target humidity between 40 and 70% in 1% increments. The app allows for remote control, 24-hour scheduling, and automatic humidity regulation according to current conditions. The humidifier is compatible with voice assistants Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

The Mijia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro does not yet have a set price or availability date outside of China. However, given its appearance on the global website, there is a chance it will eventually reach the European market. The device could particularly appeal to allergy sufferers and families with children who are bothered by classic ultrasonic humidifiers with visible mist.

Price and Availability

Xiaomi has not yet revealed how much the new humidifier will cost or if it will even reach the Czech Republic – the product was only displayed on its global website, which, however, suggests a potential introduction to our market. The Chinese electronics manufacturer is quite active here, even concerning smart home products, so it is likely that we will eventually see this new product on the shelves of local stores.
