Silent, smart, and fog-free. The new Xiaomi air humidifier has arrived in the Czech Republic

Dry air in winter months troubles many households, and humidifiers are becoming an increasingly sought-after accessory. Xiaomi is now bringing the Mijia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro model to the Czech market, which differs from conventional ultrasonic humidifiers primarily by not producing visible mist. You can find it in domestic stores for 1,999 CZK.

Evaporation instead of ultrasound

While most available humidifiers use ultrasonic technology, which creates a characteristic white mist, Xiaomi has opted for natural water evaporation. Practically, this means you won’t see any mist in the room, and no white mineral residue from the water will settle on furniture. The humidifier achieves a performance of 600 ml/h in turbo mode and is suitable for rooms measuring 20 to 30 m².

At the heart of the device is a 3D antibacterial filter, which captures impurities from both water and air. Xiaomi states an antibacterial efficiency of over 99% against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Four operating modes are available – constant humidity, sleep, turbo, and drying.

You can throw the filter in the washing machine

One of the biggest advantages of this new product is the ability to machine wash the filter. With conventional humidifiers, you have to change filters regularly, which incurs additional costs. Here, you just need to wash the filter once a week, and its lifespan will be extended to 6 to 12 months. Xiaomi only warns that you should not use water warmer than 40 °C or dry the filter on a heater.

The water tank holds 5 liters and contains silver ions that prevent bacterial growth. In sleep mode, the humidifier can operate for up to 20 hours on a single fill. Top-filling is also practical, with no need to remove the lid – just pour water directly into the opening on the top.

Quiet operation for undisturbed sleep

The humidifier uses a DC inverter motor with a closed water pump, achieving a noise level of just 30.7 dB(A) in sleep mode. For comparison – a normal conversation in a room ranges between 50 to 60 dB(A), so the humidifier should not disturb you at night. An LED display showing the current humidity is located on the top, which can be turned off when connected to the app.

Smart home connectivity

The device connects to the Xiaomi Home app, where you can set the target humidity between 40 and 70% in one-percent increments. The app allows remote control and 24-hour scheduling. The humidifier is also compatible with voice assistants Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

Who the humidifier is suitable for

The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Evaporative Humidifier Pro will be particularly appreciated by those who dislike the white mist and residue from conventional ultrasonic humidifiers. Evaporative technology is gentler on furniture and electronics. The washable filter then reduces operating costs. On the other hand – evaporative humidifiers generally consume more energy than ultrasonic ones, and their efficiency decreases with higher air humidity. However, at a price of 1,999 CZK, it is an interesting choice for medium-sized rooms.
