Finnish sports watch manufacturer Suunto has officially launched its latest outdoor model, Vertical 2, on the Czech market. These smartwatches, aimed at adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts, offer an improved AMOLED display, extreme battery life, and advanced navigation features. The basic version starts at 14,980 CZK, while the premium titanium variant is available for 17,480 CZK.

The new Suunto Vertical 2 model is designed for outdoor enthusiasts who need reliable watches for demanding conditions. Compared to the original version, it brings a number of improvements, including a brighter and larger display, a redesigned optical heart rate sensor, and a built-in LED flashlight. The watches are primarily intended for multi-day expeditions, mountain activities, and demanding sports far from civilization.

Display and Construction for All Conditions

Suunto Vertical 2 features a 1.5″ AMOLED display with LTPO technology, offering an adaptive refresh rate to optimize power consumption. The display is protected by durable sapphire glass, preventing scratches even during demanding activities. The watch’s construction is designed for extreme durability with water resistance up to 100 meters. A new feature is the integrated LED flashlight, providing safety and convenience after dark. The basic version has a stainless steel bezel, while the titanium variant offers even higher durability with lower weight.

Battery Life for Long Expeditions

One of the biggest advantages of the Vertical 2 model is its extreme battery life. In the most accurate GPS mode with dual-band technology, the watch lasts up to 65 hours of continuous activity tracking. In power-saving Tour mode with lower GPS accuracy and disabled heart rate measurement, the battery life extends up to 200 hours. With regular use as a smartwatch, Vertical 2 functions for up to 20 days with active heart rate measurement, or up to 30 days with the sensor off. This endurance allows the watch to be used on multi-day expeditions without the need for recharging.

Improved Sports and Health Features

Suunto Vertical 2 offers over 115 sport modes for various activities, from running and cycling to skiing and swimming. The watch is equipped with a redesigned optical heart rate sensor, which, thanks to the new back panel design, ensures more accurate measurement of health metrics. The device tracks blood oxygenation (SpO2), heart rate variability, and sleep quality. Training Zone and Suunto Coach features provide performance analysis and personalized recommendations for more effective training.

Navigation and Map Data

For safe movement in the field, Suunto Vertical 2 offers detailed offline maps and dual-band GPS for maximum location accuracy. Innovative features like sport-specific heatmaps help find popular routes or avoid them. The Climb Guidance feature assists in planning routes with regard to elevation, terrain slope, and surface changes. The watch is equipped with a barometer, altimeter, and compass for comprehensive orientation in the field. It also includes a storm alarm and information about sunrise and sunset.

Connectivity and App Ecosystem

Suunto Vertical 2 can be connected to mobile phones with both Android and iOS operating systems. The watch supports synchronization with the Suunto app, which allows detailed training analysis and route planning. Users can leverage connections with over 300 partner applications such as Strava, Komoot, or TrainingPeaks. New hardware with a faster processor and larger memory ensures smooth application operation and readiness for future software updates.

Suunto Vertical 2 is available on the Czech market in four color variants – Arctic Gray, Pine Green, Canyon, and Black. The basic model with a standard stainless steel bezel costs 14,980 CZK, while the premium titanium variant is available for 17,480 CZK. All versions of the watch offer the same features and differ only in the materials used. The watches are available from authorized dealers and on the manufacturer’s official e-shop.
