Do you remember the times when carriers sold phones with their own logo? Most of the time, they were re-branded cheap Chinese pieces that no one wanted. But T-Mobile is trying to revive this concept a bit differently. Today, it introduced the third generation of T Phone and the second generation of T Tablet, which were developed in cooperation with Google and are primarily intended to attract with integrated artificial intelligence.

The T Phone 3 is equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, which, while not top-of-the-line, is a very decent feature set in the price category around four thousand crowns. Add to that a 6.6-inch Full HD+ display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and you have a phone that doesn’t look bad on paper at all. Even though it’s a classic IPS panel, not OLED.

Camera with optical stabilization for four thousand

Interestingly, T-Mobile packed a 50Mpx main camera with optical image stabilization into its phone. The front camera has a resolution of 13 Mpx, which is more than enough for selfies and video calls. The second rear sensor is unfortunately just a 2Mpx macro.

The phone has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card up to 2 TB. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh with support for 25W fast charging, and it also features dual SIM with eSIM support, NFC for contactless payments, and a fingerprint reader.

Tablet with NXTPAPER display for reading

The T Tablet 2 targets a slightly different user group. Its main draw is a 10.1-inch display with NXTPAPER technology (from TCL), which is designed to facilitate reading and reduce eye strain.

Performance is provided by the MediaTek MT8755 processor, complemented by 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The battery has a capacity of 6,000 mAh, but charging is slower – only 15 W. The tablet supports working with the T-pen stylus, which you have to purchase separately. Interestingly, the tablet will receive up to 5 Android updates and over 6 years of software support, which is exceptional for a device in this category.

Magenta AI, or when a carrier plays on AI

The main selling point of both devices is the integrated Magenta AI, which uses the Perplexity search engine. In practice, this means you have an AI assistant in your phone that can answer questions and search for information from the internet.

Both models run on Android 15, and the T Phone 3 will receive 3 operating system updates and 5 years of security patches.

Price decides – with a plan for one crown

Of course, the most interesting aspect is the price. The T Phone 3 costs 4,001 CZK on its own, which is not bad considering the features. However, if you get the Next unlimited XL plan, you’ll get the phone for a symbolic 1 CZK. The tablet works similarly – it costs 5,001 CZK on its own, but with the Next unlimited 4XL plan, you also get it for one crown.

It’s a classic carrier tactic – to entice you with a cheap device and then make up for it on the plan. On the other hand, if you need an unlimited data plan anyway, it could be an interesting offer. Sales start today, August 14th, so if you’re interested, you can head to the nearest T-Mobile store.

What do you think about the new T-Mobile products?
