If you’re looking for a really large TV and don’t want to spend a fortune, Alza.cz has just launched a Black Friday offer that’s worth noting. The 85-inch Hisense 85E7Q has dropped from its original 30 thousand to 19,990 CZK. This is the lowest price at which you can currently get an 85-inch TV.

What you get for that price

The Hisense 85E7Q is a QLED TV with Quantum Dot technology, which theoretically ensures better color reproduction than standard LCD panels. It has 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels) and supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HLG. For this price, it’s not bad equipment.

The panel has a refresh rate of 50/60 Hz. This is sufficient for movies and series, but worse for games – although the TV offers a gaming mode Game Mode Plus with VRR and HSR function, which simulates 120Hz smoothness, it is still a software replacement, not a true panel. If you play single-player titles on consoles, it might be relatively irrelevant to you. Few games run at 120 fps; problems might only arise with multiplayer titles (like Warzone) where a 120fps mode is sometimes available.

Direct LED without local dimming

The Hisense 85E7Q has Direct LED backlighting, but without local dimming. This means that the entire panel lights up at once, and the TV cannot turn off individual zones for deeper blacks. If you expect a high-contrast image like with MiniLED or OLED TVs, you will be disappointed.

In practice, this means that in dark scenes, you will see gray instead of black, and the contrast will not be dazzling. For casual viewing during the day or in bright conditions, this is not a problem, but film enthusiasts might notice the compromises. On the other hand – for 20 thousand, you cannot expect miracles, especially with such a diagonal.

VIDAA Smart TV and applications

The TV runs on the VIDAA Smart TV operating system, which is neither Android TV nor webOS, but a proprietary Hisense system. It includes all essential applications: Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, YouTube, and Czech services like Oneplay (O2TV), Prima+, SledováníTV, or AntikTV.

It supports VIDAA Voice voice control in Czech, which is quite pleasant. Additionally, Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Miracast, and other methods of wireless streaming from mobile devices work. Connectors include 3× HDMI 2.1, 2× USB, LAN, and Wi-Fi 5.

Sound and gaming mode

The speakers have a power output of 30 W and support Dolby Atmos. Realistically, don’t expect miracles from built-in speakers on a 20-thousand TV – for decent sound, you will need a soundbar or home theater system. The TV has an EzPlay function for easy control of a paired soundbar directly from the TV screen.

Who it’s for

For 19,990 CZK, this is the cheapest way to get an 85-inch TV from a well-known manufacturer. This TV makes sense for people who want a large diagonal for little money and have realistic expectations. If you mainly watch series, sports, or daily shows, the 85E7Q will serve its purpose. If you are a film enthusiast or a hardcore gamer, it’s better to invest in a more expensive model with a MiniLED or OLED panel and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The TV weighs 36 kg and has a VESA mount of 600×400, so wall mounting is not an issue. Alza also offers a delivery and installation service if you don’t want to handle it yourself. As a bonus, you will receive a free Antik TV subscription upon registration, valued at 4,068 CZK.
