If you have been considering purchasing a robotic vacuum cleaner, the current offer might convince you. The Czech manufacturer ETA launched the Tiger 4242 90000 model in October 2023 with a price of almost seven thousand crowns, but gradual price reductions have now brought it to a historical low of 3,599 CZK. As recently as November last year, you would have paid at least 4,290 CZK for it.

Laser Navigation and Long Battery Life

The ETA Tiger 4242 90000 is among vacuum cleaners with 360° laser navigation, which allows for precise room mapping. The robot can store up to three maps, making it suitable for multi-story homes. Anti-Collision sensors protect furniture from impacts, and Smart Technology prevents falls down stairs.

Under the hood is a 14.4V Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 3,350 mAh, which provides the vacuum cleaner with a runtime of up to 160 minutes on a single charge. When the battery runs low, the robot returns to its charging station and, after 3–4 hours, continues cleaning where it left off. The maximum suction power reaches 1,600 Pa, which unfortunately is not enough to match many competing models in the same price range (for example, the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S40C can handle 5,000 Pa).

Vacuuming and Mopping in One Pass

The main advantage of the Tiger model is the combination of vacuuming and mopping. The universal brush handles hard floors and carpets with pile heights up to 1 cm, while the side brushes sweep dirt from corners. All captured particles go into a 600 ml dustbin equipped with a HEPA filter.

The mopping attachment features electronic intensity control with three levels. You can set a gentler dampening for wooden floors, while increasing the intensity for tiles. The vacuum cleaner, with a height of 9.7 cm, can pass under most furniture and can overcome thresholds up to 1.5 cm high.

Czech Application and Voice Guidance

Control is done via the ETA SMART application, which is fully in Czech. In it, you can schedule cleaning for specific days and times, divide your home into rooms, create forbidden zones, or track cleaning history. The application supports Android 6.0 and iOS 11.0 and newer, and connection works via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

The robot also features voice guidance in Czech, which informs you about its current status. The declared noise level is 73 dB, which corresponds to a normal conversation.

Who is the Vacuum Cleaner Suitable For

For less than four thousand crowns, you get a well-equipped robotic vacuum cleaner with laser guidance and mopping capability. It is particularly suitable for apartments and homes with a predominance of hard floors, where you will appreciate the combined cleaning. The carpet height limit of 1 cm might be restrictive for some households.

Disadvantages include the absence of a self-emptying station and slower charging, lasting 3–4 hours. However, customer ratings of 4.3 out of 5 stars (based on 38 reviews on the manufacturer’s website) indicate that most users are satisfied with the vacuum cleaner. They most often praise its simple operation and good spatial orientation.
