Portable battery stations with a capacity over 800 Wh usually cost as much as a small vacation. However, thanks to the current discount, the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Max Plus Wireless has dropped to 14 079 Kč from 16 990 Kč, which is an exceptionally good offer for a station with a LiFePO4 battery, professional UPS function, and an integrated wireless power bank. You can find the current lowest price across retailers in the Heureka catalog.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you are looking for a power backup for your home, cottage, or caravan and want the long lifespan of LiFePO4 cells.
⚠️ Consider carefully if you need to power high-wattage appliances (microwave, hairdryer) or are looking for a station with a capacity over 1 kWh.
💡 For 14 079 Kč you get 858 Wh + a 5,000 mAh wireless power bank + UPS function – a combination not often seen in this price range.

Why this station is interesting

The RIVER 3 Max Plus Wireless is essentially a discounted package: you get the basic RIVER 3 Plus station, an additional EB600 battery (which increases the capacity to 858 Wh), and an removable RAPID 5,000 mAh magnetic power bank. Three products in one package that together cover situations from “charging a phone on a trip” to “powering a router, NAS, and laptop during a power outage.” The logic is simple – instead of buying several separate devices, you get a modular system that grows with your needs.

Key parameters: capacity, output, lifespan

At the heart of the station is a LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) battery with a capacity of 858 Wh. This type of cell has two significant advantages over conventional lithium: higher safety and a substantially longer lifespan. The manufacturer states 3,000 charging cycles until the capacity drops to 80% of the original, which corresponds to approximately 10 years of normal use. This is a difference compared to cheaper stations with conventional cells, which start to noticeably lose capacity.

The continuous AC output handles 600 W, with the X-Boost function up to 1,200 W for resistive appliances (heaters, tools). In practice, this covers most small household appliances – coffee maker, laptop, e-bike charger, small refrigerator, router, lights. What it reasonably won’t power: a microwave oven, hairdryer, kettle over 1,200 W. For these cases, you need to opt for larger models from the DELTA series.

As for charging speed, according to EcoFlow, the station charges from 0% to 80% in less than two hours. Solar charging supports input up to 220 W, so with a suitable panel, you can recharge the station in 4–5 hours of direct sunlight. Charging from a 12/24 V car socket is also available, which will be appreciated by caravanners and people on longer trips.

UPS function and removable RAPID power bank

For me personally, the most interesting parameter is the UPS with switching under 10 ms. This means that if you have a laptop, NAS, or gaming PC connected to the station and the power goes out, the device will not register the outage and will continue to run. Classic offline UPS typically switch around 20–30 ms, while online UPS are orders of magnitude more expensive. Here, you get a “pseudo-online” UPS function as a bonus to the battery station.

The second feature, after which the model bears the “Wireless” moniker: a RAPID 5,000 mAh magnetic power bank integrated into the top part of the station. You can remove it and take it with you, where it functions as a standard wireless MagSafe-compatible power bank for your phone. Charging the power bank from 0 to 70% takes 33 minutes thanks to X-Stream technology. A practical solution for the situation “at home, the station backs up networks; on a trip, I only take the power bank.”

Practical aspects: ports, noise, portability

Connectivity on a station of this size is decent: 3× 230 V outlets, 1× USB-A, 2× USB-C (the main one with 100 W, the second on the additional battery with up to 140 W output) and a 12V DC output for car accessories. One hundred forty watts on USB-C will satisfy even more demanding MacBook Pros or gaming laptops that previously required a separate adapter.

EcoFlow also boasts X-GaNPower technology, which reduces heat loss and minimizes the need for cooling. The practical consequence: the station is very quiet – the manufacturer states under 30 dB from a distance of 45 cm, which corresponds to the quietness of a library. You can easily place it in a bedroom or next to a desk. The weight of 10.5 kg and dimensions of approximately 30 × 23 × 22 cm mean that it is easily portable to a cottage or car, but not so much that you would carelessly throw it on your back for a hike.

A small but practical feature: there is a built-in LED light on the front. It comes in handy for night camping and when you go to check the circuit breaker in an apartment building after an outage. However, IP54 protection only applies to the internal battery, not the entire station – do not leave it outside in the rain.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you want to back up your entire household during longer outages or power large appliances such as a microwave, induction hob, or electric heater with higher power consumption, 858 Wh and 600 W will not be enough. For these scenarios, an EcoFlow DELTA station with a capacity of 1 kWh+ and an output of 1,800 W or more makes more sense. Second scenario: if you only need to occasionally charge your phone and laptop on the go, the RIVER 3 Max Plus Wireless is overkill – a smaller and cheaper RIVER 3 or even a quality power bank will suffice.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

For 14 079 Kč, you get hardware that practically covers three typical scenarios: UPS for a workstation (PC, monitor, router – running for over 2 hours during an outage), energy backup for a cottage or caravan (refrigerator, lights, charging small electronics for an entire weekend), and a mobile power source on the go via the removable RAPID power bank. The discount of 2 911 Kč compared to the original price of 16 990 Kč also compensates for the fact that LiFePO4 stations over 800 Wh are usually significantly more expensive.

If you are considering buying a battery station more as a preventative measure – power outages, blackouts, cottage stays – and want a solution that will last you ten years with LiFePO4 lifespan, the RIVER 3 Max Plus Wireless at this price makes rational sense. It’s not a universal solution for everyone, but in the 800–900 Wh segment, it is among the best in terms of price-to-feature ratio on the Czech market today.

For what purpose would you acquire a charging station?
