RGB Mini LED is the technology most talked about this year – and TCL is now offering it in an affordable range. The 65RM7L model now costs 17,544 CZK with code 2026ALZAEXTRA35 instead of 26,990 CZK. The British server GSM GoTech wrote about this series that the combination of a 144Hz panel, thousands of nits of brightness, and RGB backlighting is unusual at this price point and that the TV significantly undercuts Samsung and Sony.

👍 Get it if you want the latest display technology, play on a console, and appreciate not needing a soundbar.
🤔 Hesitate if you monitor power consumption or need more USB ports – 300 kWh in HDR and a single USB are weaknesses.
💰 Price: 17,544 CZK for this year’s RGB Mini LED with 448 dimming zones; the discount is over nine thousand.

Why RGB Mini LED is different from regular Mini LED

Classic Mini LED backlighting uses white diodes, and color is created by a filter in front of the panel – some light is lost, and colors are not as pure. RGB Mini LED, instead, uses separate red, green, and blue diodes, so color is generated directly at the source. According to FlatpanelsHD, the main advantage is precisely the extended color gamut – and for this series, TCL states coverage of up to 100% of the BT.2020 space.

The editorial team of choose.tv has already tested the TV, and their conclusion is interesting: TCL with the RM7L did not go the route of increasing the number of zones like with its sister series, but instead focused on RGB backlighting. They praise the result – black levels and contrast are really good thanks to the combination of a VA panel with RGB Mini LED, and the TV is bright according to measurements. At the same time, they point out that it has fewer zones than a competing model with SQD Mini LED, which may affect dimming accuracy.

And here’s one thing to note: Alza states 1,344 dimming zones in the description, but 448 in the specifications. FlatpanelsHD, which compared TVs directly, states 448 zones for the 65-inch model – so the higher number likely refers to a different diagonal size.

For gamers and filmmakers, the equipment is complete

The gaming equipment is exceptional for this price: all four HDMI ports are version 2.1, the panel runs natively at 120 Hz and can handle 144 Hz in gaming mode, plus VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and Ideal for PlayStation 5 certification. Foreign sources also mention the VRR Game Accelerator function, which can switch the image up to 288 Hz – ideal for fast-paced shooters.

Visually, the TV supports all HDR formats – Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG – it has 10-bit color depth, is Calman Ready for professional calibration, and offers Filmmaker Mode. The HVA Pro panel type, according to the manufacturer, has better viewing angles and faster response than standard VA displays.

The sound is another pleasant surprise: a 40W system tuned by the Japanese brand Onkyo with a built-in subwoofer, supporting Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and automatic calibration. So you don’t have to worry about a soundbar on day one. The Google TV system has a complete Czech offering (Oneplay, Prima+, SledováníTV, Telly, Skylink, Kuki, Vodafone TV) and is compatible with Google Assistant, Alexa, and Apple HomeKit.

What to expect

The most noticeable is consumption: energy class E in SDR is fine, but 300 kWh per thousand hours in HDR (class G) is a lot and will be reflected in the electricity bill. It’s the price for 2,000 nits of brightness – the brighter the panel, the higher the consumption.

The second note concerns connectivity: a single USB port is sparse for a TV of this class, and Wi-Fi is only version 5, which is surprising for a 2026 model – it’s sufficient for 4K streaming, but it’s noticeable on paper. And foreign reviewers point out a general limitation of RGB Mini LED: how well the TV handles the blooming effect around bright objects depends on the quality of the dimming algorithm, and that’s where fewer zones can manifest.

A practical note at the end: the TV weighs 19.9 kg, is only 5.6 cm thin without the stand, and Alza offers delivery to your home and wall mounting. For 17,544 CZK, you get the latest display technology with complete gaming equipment and Onkyo sound – and that’s an opportunity for TVs that doesn’t come around often.

Do you think it’s worth buying brand new technology, or will you wait for the second generation?
