At the end of November, we informed you about the Huawei X3 Pro router, which went on sale in China for a price equivalent to approximately 3,900 CZK for the unit itself. At the time, we didn’t really expect the new product to ever make it outside its home market. It is all the more pleasant to find that the Huawei WiFi Mesh X3 Pro has now officially arrived in the Czech Republic. Interested parties can purchase a set with a main router and an extender for 6,299 CZK.

A router you’d be reluctant to hide

Ordinary routers usually end up hidden behind a cabinet or in a corner of the room where they don’t bother anyone. The Huawei WiFi Mesh X3 Pro is the exact opposite – its cylindrical body with a transparent top part conceals a structure resembling a mountain range, which lights up to create the effect of a sunrise over snow-capped peaks. It’s the first router you could easily place in the middle of your living room as a decoration.

The lighting can be controlled directly by touch or via the Huawei AI Life app, where the user can set brightness, color temperature, and an on/off timer according to their daily routine. The extender in the package offers the same control options as the main unit.

Transparent Antennas and Wi-Fi 7

Design alone wouldn’t be enough if the router didn’t work. Huawei has implemented transparent metal alloy antennas in the X3 Pro, which, according to the manufacturer, are the first of their kind. The antennas are created by etching circuits onto a transparent material with micrometre precision and are hidden directly within the mountain motif – so nothing protrudes anywhere.

The router supports dual-band Wi-Fi 7 with speeds up to 3.6 Gbps (688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2,882 Mbps on 5 GHz). Available technologies include Multi-Link Operation for lower latency, 4K-QAM for faster data transfer, and Multi-RU for efficient load distribution between bands. Thanks to HUAWEI WiFi Mesh+ technology, the set with an extender covers an area of up to 120 m² with a stable signal without dead spots.

Shark Fin Shaped Fans

An interesting feature is the cooling system with second-generation shark fin shaped fans, which, according to Huawei, provide 70% better airflow. The router should thus remain cool even under high load and long-term operation. Notable features include Game Turbo for reducing latency during gaming, parental control, and the HomeSec security system with attack protection.

The main router features 512 MB RAM, three network ports (two of which are 2.5G with automatic WAN/LAN detection), and support for integration into smart home systems.

Who is this router suitable for?

The Huawei WiFi Mesh X3 Pro will be appreciated primarily by those who don’t want an unsightly plastic box with protruding antennas in their living room. If interior design matters to you and you also need reliable Wi-Fi coverage for a larger apartment or house, this is an interesting choice. Mesh technology ensures seamless transitions between rooms without dropouts.

On the other hand, it’s important to consider that the price of 6,299 CZK for the set is not exactly low. For similar money, you can find more powerful mesh systems from competitors, but they look like ordinary routers. Huawei charges a premium here for the unique design. Those looking purely for the best price/performance ratio, regardless of appearance, will find cheaper alternatives.

Would you place this router in your living room?
