The new Xiaomi TV S Mini LED 2026 series is great not only for sports matches. Plus, it starts under 15 thousand

Last month, Xiaomi updated its catalog of Mini LED-backlit televisions with five models of this year’s generation. The Xiaomi TV S Mini LED 2026 series once again boasts an excellent price-to-performance ratio – the cheapest 55″ model is available for 13,999 CZK and the top-of-the-line 98″ version, which even boasts a refresh rate of up to 288Hz, costs only 54,999 CZK. All of them also serve excellently for watching sports matches. If you order the TV today, you probably won’t make it to watch Sunday’s hockey final on it, but you’ll have it ready for the upcoming football championship.

All models in the series, regardless of size and price, use a Mini-LED panel with Quantum Dot technology. In practice, this means that the screen is not backlit across its entire surface like with cheap LCD models, but is divided into several independent zones that can illuminate with varying intensity independently of each other. The 55″ variant has 308 of them, while the top-of-the-line 98″ version offers 880.

Logically, it holds that the higher the number of zones, the better the TV can control the backlighting in individual parts of the image. So, if you are watching a dark scene where, for example, a street lamp is shining, the area around the lamp will remain perfectly dark, and the lamp will shine brightly. Special algorithms also reduce undesirable effects such as flickering or the so-called halo effect, which is a kind of imaginary aura around luminous objects.

A key advantage of Mini LED panels is high brightness, and Xiaomi, in the case of this year’s series, boasts a solid value of 1,200 nits. At the same time, it also highlights an alleged minimum of 0.0001 nits, which complements the above – thus, the televisions offer an excellent level of darkness that practically equals OLED panels.

You can also expect very good color accuracy, thanks to the TV’s ability to process images with 10-bit depth for each primary color (RGB) and 94% DCI-P3 color space coverage. Gamers will be particularly interested in the 85″ and 95″ models, which offer a native 144Hz refresh rate and a maximum frequency of up to 288 Hz in game mode. Smaller models natively support only 60 Hz and again achieve double that in game mode, i.e., 120 Hz.

Freedom with Google TV and Dolby (Atmos) Sound

Xiaomi TV S Mini LED 2026 televisions traditionally run on the Google TV operating system, for which all major streaming platforms are available. With access to a store of over 10,000 applications, it offers freedom that would be hard to find on competing platforms.

Unfortunately, here too we encounter differences between the most expensive pair and the rest of the series – the 85″ and 98″ models feature more powerful Cortex-A73 processor cores and 3GB of RAM (while the rest of the series only has 2GB), so the system will run better on them. It’s a shame that the smaller members of the family don’t have the same privileges.

Incidentally, you would also search in vain for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos technologies on these models, which will certainly mean something to film enthusiasts. Versions with 55″, 65″, and 75″ panels can only settle for Dolby Audio and DTS:X sound. However, the speaker output across the entire series is only 2x 15 W, so if you really care about audio, you’ll still need to get a soundbar even for the 98″ TV.

What we must praise Xiaomi for is the fact that it also thought of iPhone owners and other Apple product users. In addition to the Google Cast function for wireless image transmission, it also supports Apple AirPlay. The remote control is also definitely worth mentioning, as it works via Bluetooth even if you don’t point it directly at the TV.

Price and Availability: Starting at 13,999 CZK in the Czech Republic

As we already mentioned in the introduction, Xiaomi has set very friendly prices for its televisions. The basic model can be purchased here for as little as 13,999 CZK, and for the almost hundred-inch version, you’ll spend barely 55 thousand. All variants are now available, for example, at Alza.
