Most power banks on the market hover around 20,000 mAh. However, the ChoeTech PD60W aims to impress with a massive 69,600 mAh capacity and is currently on sale again for 3,779 CZK. It dropped to this price last month as part of a previous promotion, with the standard price being 5,399 CZK. Users have rated it very positively so far.

Quick summary:
It makes sense if you go on multi-day trips, to a caravan, or to a cabin without an outlet and need a power supply for several days.
⚠️ Consider that it weighs 2 kilograms, you cannot take it on a plane, and Alza reports a high return rate for it.
💡 For 3,779 CZK, you get a capacity that ordinary power banks don’t offer, but it’s a borderline category between a power bank and a small power generator.

Why this power bank is interesting

The number 69,600 mAh is completely outside the usual standard in the power bank category. In conversion, it’s approximately 257 Wh of energy, which is about three times what even large travel models with a capacity of 25,000 mAh can carry. ChoeTech PD60W therefore targets a different use case than commuting to work: it’s aimed at multi-day trips, caravans, and cabins without a power connection, where you need to power electronics for several days straight.

Key parameters in real numbers

Marketing mAh and what you actually get into your phone are not the same. Voltage conversion losses and an efficiency of around 85% mean that from the advertised 69,600 mAh, you will get approximately 10 to 12 full charges for a typical phone or three to four charges for a laptop. This is still an order of magnitude more than a classic power bank, just read the figure on the box with a margin.

Practical aspects: ports, weight, charging

The features are unusually extensive for a power bank: two USB-C, one USB-A, a DC port, and a 12.6V cigarette lighter socket, plus wireless Qi charging with 10 W output. It can handle five devices simultaneously and also serves as a flashlight at night. Be aware, however, that 60 W is the total output power, not the value for each port, so you’ll charge a demanding laptop slower than with its own adapter. It recharges via USB-C, from a 24V car socket, or from a solar panel, which is not included in the package and must be purchased separately.

What to watch out for

Three things worth noting. You cannot take it on a plane because its capacity of around 257 Wh significantly exceeds the 100 Wh limit for carry-on luggage and also the 160 Wh threshold, above which even the carrier will not approve transport. Alza reports a high return rate of 6.83% for the product with over 200 units sold, which is a sample size that cannot be dismissed as a coincidence. And the battery is covered by only a 6-month warranty instead of twenty-four, as it is formally considered a consumable item. A rating of 4.7 out of 5 sounds good, but it’s currently based on only nine reviews, so don’t make it your main argument.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you’re looking for a power bank to charge your phone on the way home from work, this one is completely outside your category. It weighs 2,000 grams, you won’t fit it in your pocket or a smaller backpack, and for 3,779 CZK, you could buy three quality models with a capacity of 20,000 mAh. It also doesn’t make sense as a solution for frequent flying or for cabin owners who want to power a refrigerator or power tools, because 60 W and the lack of a classic 230V socket are not enough for such a load.

If this particular model didn’t appeal to you, check out the current Alza Days, where other discounted power banks and charging accessories regularly appear. The offer changes according to stock availability.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

The ChoeTech PD60W for 3,779 CZK is a purchase for a narrow but clearly defined group: people who spend several days away from civilization and need to power phones, a camera, a passenger’s power bank, and possibly in-car electronics. The price remains at its long-term minimum, so there’s no pressure to wait for a better deal. However, for everyday carrying in a backpack, opt for something lighter and cheaper.

What capacity does your power bank have, and is it enough for a weekend away from civilization?
