Sonos brand soundbars are among the more expensive, but also among the best-rated on the market. You can now buy the Sonos Arc Ultra in white for 19,990 CZK, which is almost 3,500 less than the regular price and also almost the lowest price at which this model has been available on Alza. Interestingly, the black variant costs 22,490 CZK – so the white one is currently 2,500 CZK more advantageous.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you are looking for a soundbar with truly spatial Dolby Atmos sound and don’t want to deal with complicated home cinema wiring.
⚠️ Consider if you prefer black (it costs 2,500 CZK more) or if you expect honest depths without buying a subwoofer.
💡 For 19,990 CZK you get a flagship model with Sound Motion™ technology and a What Hi-Fi? Award – in this price range, it’s an exceptional offer.

Why this soundbar is interesting

Sonos Arc Ultra targets users who want cinema-like sound without the need to install five speakers throughout the room. It is a flagship model from Sonos with a completely new acoustic architecture – at its heart are 14 drivers, including the Sound Motion™ bass driver, which, according to the manufacturer, delivers double the bass performance compared to the previous Arc generation. The result is Dolby Atmos spatial sound in a 9.1.4 configuration, which surrounds you from all sides without the need for rear speakers.

Arc Ultra received the What Hi-Fi? Award, which is a fairly strong reference in the soundbar category. Unlike cheaper models, it also offers AI dialogue quality enhancement with four adjustable levels – especially useful when watching movies with quiet dialogues and loud effects.

Key parameters in practice

Sound Motion™ technology is the main innovation compared to the older Arc. It is a special bass driver with four motors and two diaphragms in a compact design, which allows for deeper bass without the need for an external subwoofer. In practice, this means that for regular movie and series watching, you don’t need to buy a Sub – the bass is surprisingly rich even without it, according to users. However, for truly deep frequencies (action movies, music with a prominent bass line), a subwoofer will still help.

The soundbar supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS Digital Surround. For a full Atmos experience, connection via HDMI eARC and correct TV and stream box passthrough settings are required – several users in reviews mention that it takes a while to figure out, but then everything works reliably.

Practical aspects: connectivity, control, dimensions

Arc Ultra connects via HDMI eARC (cable is included in the package) and supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and Apple AirPlay 2. You can control it with your TV’s remote control, touch elements on the soundbar, or via the Sonos app for iOS and Android. The app also offers the Trueplay™ function, which measures room acoustics and automatically adjusts the sound according to the soundbar’s placement.

Dimensions are 1,178 × 75 × 110.6 mm with a weight of 5.9 kg – so the soundbar is quite wide and suitable for TVs 55″ and larger. The wall mount is not included in the package and is sold separately for approximately 2,290 CZK, which some users criticize in reviews. The design is matte white with a curved shape, which, according to most reviews, looks elegant and discreet.

What users say

On Alza, Arc Ultra has a rating of 4.8 out of 5 (60 ratings) and 93% of customers recommend it. The return rate is very low – only 0.79%. Users most often praise the clarity of sound, the Dolby Atmos spatial effect, surprisingly powerful bass even without a subwoofer, and easy integration into the Sonos ecosystem. Several reviews mention that the difference compared to the older Arc is noticeable mainly in the dynamics and depth of the bass.

Critical voices appear mainly regarding details: the wall mount is missing from the package, the Sonos app sometimes doesn’t cooperate (especially in conjunction with Apple Music), and some users expected even richer bass without a subwoofer. One reviewer points out that if you already have an older Arc with Era 300 and Sub, upgrading to Arc Ultra might not be as significant as you would expect. However, for most users transitioning from cheaper soundbars, the difference is “miles away” according to reviews.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you are looking for a soundbar on a smaller budget, the Arc Ultra with a price of almost 20,000 CZK is not the right choice – Sonos offers the cheaper Beam (Gen 2) around 10–11,000 or Ray under 6,000. Similarly, if you don’t need Dolby Atmos and solid stereo sound for your TV is enough, you will pay for features you won’t use. And if you prefer black color, you’ll pay an extra 2,500 CZK – in that case, it’s worth considering whether the white variant will be distracting to you.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

For 19,990 CZK, you get a flagship soundbar with Sound Motion™ technology, Dolby Atmos 9.1.4, 14 drivers, and a What Hi-Fi? Award. If you want truly spatial sound without the need to install five speakers around the room and don’t mind the white color, the Sonos Arc Ultra is hard to beat in this price range.

Do you have a soundbar at home, or are you still using your TV’s speakers?
