The Czech Republic is currently baking. Temperatures are hitting forty degrees Celsius, organizers are canceling festivals and races due to health risks, and apartments under roofs are turning into ovens. In such a situation, you’re only solving one thing — how to quickly lower the temperature, and where to get it cheapest. The Beko BP1125C mobile air conditioner now costs 13,490 CZK at Alza, which is currently the best price on the Czech market — you’d pay two thousand more directly from the manufacturer. Before purchasing, it’s advisable to check current availability in detail on Alza, because under these conditions, air conditioners sell out overnight.

Quick Summary:
Makes sense if you can’t drill into the wall and need to quickly and reliably lower the temperature in a room up to 30 m².
⚠️ Consider that it is noisy (like all mobile air conditioners), weighs 28.5 kg, and the exhaust hose is short with weaker threads.
💡 For 13,490 CZK, this is currently the cheapest offer in the Czech Republic for a model that actually cools — no discount, but a fair price.

Why address it right now

The logic for summer air conditioning is different from most electronics. Last year, the Beko BP1125C was briefly sold for 9,490 CZK; today it costs 13,490 CZK — yes, it’s more expensive. But this is the seasonal price, when demand skyrockets during a full heatwave, and discounts disappear across the market. Anyone who waits for a significant sale will buy it cheaply at the earliest in autumn, but by then the heat will be over, and the AC will sit in its box for a year. If you need it now, only one thing matters: where is it cheapest. And that is currently right here, 2,000 CZK below the manufacturer’s price.

Key Parameters

The most important number is the cooling capacity of 3.5 kW (11,942 BTU). In practice, this means that in a well-shaded and insulated room, it can reliably cool even a larger living room or attic up to 30 m² — owners confirm it quickly brings an attic room to a comfortable temperature. It’s a monoblock with a single hose, so no wall installation is required; you just vent the hot air out the window. The energy class is A, and consumption is around 1.4 kWh per hour of cooling.

Among the smart features, Wi-Fi and the HomeDirect app (it also supports Google Home, which the manufacturer surprisingly barely mentions), dehumidification mode, a timer, and night mode are welcome. A nice detail is the automatic restart after a power outage — it resumes its original settings after power is restored. One catch with the app: the AC cannot be controlled remotely from outside the home; it only works on the same Wi-Fi network, so you can’t turn it on remotely before you get home.

What users say and what to watch out for

On Alza, the air conditioner has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 26 customers and 85% recommendations, with low complaint rates (1.4%). What owners unanimously agree on: it cools quickly and genuinely helps, and it’s also unusually attractive — several people write that when turned off, it looks like a home accessory, not a plastic box. They also appreciate the wheels and the complete window kit included in the package.

Now, what you need to know beforehand, as it’s repeated in almost every review. It’s noisy — but this applies to all mobile air conditioners; it’s a compressor in the room, not a defect of this specific model. Most people don’t mind the constant sound and can sleep or watch TV with it on, but one owner returned it due to vibrations transmitted to the floor. The second recurring complaint is its weight of 28.5 kg, making moving it upstairs a chore. And thirdly, the short exhaust hose with weaker threads — a few people had to tinker with the attachment. None of this is surprising for this type of device, but it’s fair to mention.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you have the option to install a classic wall-mounted (split) air conditioner and are comfortable with drilling into the wall, go for it — it will be quieter, more energy-efficient, and more comfortable; a mobile AC is always a compromise. Similarly, if you are extremely sensitive to noise and want to cool a bedroom for quiet sleep, carefully consider whether the constant hum of the compressor will bother you. And anyone expecting to turn on the AC via the app on their way home from work will be disappointed — remote control doesn’t work here. However, for anyone who cannot drill and genuinely needs to lower the temperature in the heat, it is a reasonable choice at the best current price.
