You don’t have to dig up your garden and run electricity to it for a view of the gate. The Tapo C410 KIT combines a battery-powered camera with a solar panel that takes care of its charging. The entire set is now available on Alza with code ALZADNY20 for 1 359 Kč instead of 1 699 Kč without the code. The panel is in the box; it’s not an accessory for an additional charge.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense for: a home where you want a camera without an outlet and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi reaches.
⚠️ Consider: it saves clips upon motion, it doesn’t do continuous all-day recording.
💡 For saving to a card, add your own microSD, it’s not included in the set.

You can focus notifications directly on the gate

You don’t have to receive notifications for every movement in the entire frame. In the app, you can define an activity zone, for example around the entrance, and the camera can recognize a person. Person detection is free; you don’t need a paid cloud for it.

The image has a resolution of 2304 × 1296 pixels. At night, built-in spotlights illuminate the scene to keep the footage in color. A microphone and speaker allow for two-way talk: you can tell a courier at the gate via your phone where to place a package.

The panel saves on charging, but needs a sunny spot

When mounting, it makes sense to look for a spot that receives enough light. According to the manufacturer, the panel practically doesn’t gain energy during rain; in cloudy weather, it depends on the light and the frequency of the camera waking up. Therefore, in the shade, the panel may not cover the camera’s power consumption. The camera itself has IP65 protection for outdoor installation.

You can keep recordings at home or save them to the cloud

The camera supports microSD cards up to 512 GB, so clips can remain directly on the device. The second option is a Tapo Care subscription, which stores them off-camera. You therefore choose based on whether you want your own local storage or a cloud backup.

Where at home would a camera without an outlet be useful for you?
