TP-Link has expanded its range of security cameras with the Tapo C216 model, which has officially arrived on the Czech market. For 1,099 CZK, you get a pan/tilt camera with 2K resolution that works both indoors and outdoors. In this price category, it’s an interesting combination of features that is often the domain of more expensive models.

Versatile Camera for Home and Garden

The Tapo C216 features IP65 protection, so it can withstand rain, snow, and dusty environments. You can mount it by the front door, in the garage, or on the terrace. The camera offers 360° horizontal rotation and up to 152° vertical tilt, covering virtually the entire area without blind spots.

The 3Mpx sensor records in 2K (2304 × 1296 pixels), capturing details of faces and license plates. Built-in spotlights provide color night vision up to 12 meters – so instead of black and white infrared images, you’ll see the color of clothing or vehicles even in the dark.

AI Recognizes People and Baby Crying

The camera uses artificial intelligence for person detection and baby crying recognition. You can set your own activity zones – for example, monitoring only the front door and ignoring the street. When the camera detects movement, it automatically tracks the moving object and keeps it in frame.

To deter unwanted guests, there is an audible siren and flashing light, which you activate via the mobile app. The built-in microphone and speaker allow for two-way communication – you can speak to a courier or check on children in the garden.

Flexible Storage Without Fees

Recordings are stored on a microSD card with a capacity of up to 512 GB (not included) without monthly fees. Alternatives include the Tapo Care cloud service with the first month free, or the optional Tapo H500 base with support for up to 16TB hard drives.

You control the camera via the Czech Tapo app available for both Android and iOS. It also supports voice control via Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and integration into Samsung SmartThings. The privacy protection feature allows you to create blocked zones that the camera will not record – for example, a bed or a desk.
