The matte screen is the main magic here

Most TVs have a glossy panel that reflects windows, lamps, and even you. The Frame uses a matte screen, which makes the turned-off TV truly look like a framed painting on canvas – and not like a black mirror. However, the same treatment is also useful during operation: in a bright room, it significantly reduces reflections and the image remains legible.

The other half of that magic is Art Mode and the Art Store. When turned off, the TV displays works from a collection or your own photos, while the brightness automatically adjusts to the room’s lighting, and a motion sensor turns off the display when no one is in the room. The bezels are interchangeable, so you can match the TV to your furniture.

And then there’s the thing that makes The Frame a true design piece: the Slim Fit wall mount is included in the package. Thanks to it, the TV fits almost flush against the wall, without the usual gap.

This year’s model features

Technically, it’s a QLED panel with quantum dots, 4K resolution, and a 2026 model year. For gamers, there’s 144 Hz in game mode and a game mode with low input lag, while sound is handled by a 40W system with Dolby Atmos and DTS Digital Surround. The Tizen system has a complete Czech offering including Oneplay, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, YouTube, and Spotify, and Samsung promises seven years of system updates for it.

A practical advantage is the One Connect Box, a separate box where you connect all devices – only a single thin cable then leads to the TV. Connectivity is complemented by three USB ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and voice control, plus a VESA 400 × 300 mount.

What to expect

Let’s be honest: you buy The Frame for its design, not for the best picture quality. For the same money, you can get a TV with Mini LED backlighting, higher brightness, and deeper blacks – but when turned off, it will look like any other. The matte screen also has one drawback: the image appears less contrasty than on glossy panels, which you’ll notice in a completely darkened room.

Also, expect an energy class F and that the Art Store works partly on a subscription basis – a basic set of artworks is free, while the extended collection is paid, although you can upload your own photos without restrictions. And if you plan wall mounting, Alza offers a complete installation service for 1,899 CZK for the TV.
